Step 1: Determine the purpose of purchase

The purpose determines the purchase direction and capital budget, and the purchased models are also different. Entertainment flight, small propeller aircraft or other aircraft can be purchased, with low cost; For short distance business flight and general aviation operation, small aircraft and helicopters can be purchased. The use cost of helicopters is high. For medium and long distance business flight, higher level business aircraft can be purchased. With the help of advanced electronic equipment and luxurious decoration, modern business aircraft has become a real air office.

Step 2: Select the aircraft manufacturer and model

Select aircraft manufacturers and target aircraft types according to the purpose and budget, select several aircraft types, conduct necessary comparative analysis, determine the optimal selection order, and conduct inquiry negotiations.

In case of insufficient experience in purchasing and using aircraft, it is recommended that domestic customers purchase aircraft from world-famous manufacturers. These manufacturers have good quality and perfect after-sales service system, which can better solve the worries of using aircraft.

Step 3: Business negotiation with agents and manufacturers

After the model is clear, business negotiation can be conducted with the agent or manufacturer to determine the basic price, optional configuration, spare air materials, delivery date, after-sales service and other details

Step 4: Sign the aircraft purchase contract, import and export agency agreement and pay the deposit

On the premise of mutual benefit and mutual satisfaction, after the import agent is determined, the buyer and the seller and the agent sign a tripartite purchase contract, and the buyer pays the purchase deposit.

The seller's quotation is generally ex factory price, including basic model price and optional configuration price. The customer should also consider the following import fees: value-added tax of 17% of the total aircraft price, customs tax, import agency fee, transportation fee, insurance fee, etc. The import agent will assist the customer in handling various procedures such as foreign exchange adjustment, payment and aircraft import.

Step 6: Submit the purchase application to CAAC

The customer fills in the corresponding application form, attaches a copy of the aircraft purchase contract, and submits the aircraft purchase application to the National Civil Aviation Administration. The import approval can be applied for by the aircraft agency, and some import agencies also provide this service.

Documents required: application letter (introduction of the buyer), copy of the purchase contract, and copy of the escrow agreement.

Step 7: The customer will send personnel to participate in the pilot model change training and maintenance personnel training

Aircraft manufacturers generally provide customers with training for pilots to switch aircraft types and maintenance personnel. Different from automobiles, pilots and maintenance personnel of each aircraft type should receive special training.

The maintenance personnel and pilots participating in the training can participate in the subsequent aircraft work, and the specific time of the training is subject to the actual arrangement of the factory.

Step 8: Acceptance flight and reception

After the aircraft is manufactured, the customer conducts acceptance flight and reception in the factory. This work can be completed by newly trained flight and maintenance personnel who should have relevant experience and knowledge. At the same time of acceptance, the customer shall notify the import agent to make preparations for the import customs.

Step 9: Apply to CAAC for aircraft registration number

Step 10: Aircraft transportation

Transport or fly the aircraft back to China, and the freight and insurance shall be borne by the customer. It is usually entrusted to a professional company.

Step 11: Customs formalities

Customers pay various customs duties through import and export agents to complete customs clearance procedures.

Step 12: Aircraft reassembly and flight test (if necessary)

After customs clearance, if necessary, the aircraft will be transported to the assembly site for assembly and test flight.

Step 13: Obtaining international registration certificate, airworthiness certificate and radio station license

After the aircraft purchased by the customer arrives in China, the manufacturer cancels the nationality registration in the place of origin. Customers apply to CAAC for aircraft nationality registration certificate, airworthiness certificate and radio station license. This work can also be entrusted to the escrow company.

Step 14: Warranty, aviation material supply and after-sales service

According to the flight years and hours, the aircraft has a certain maintenance period and after-sales service.
