The printer installation is divided into two steps: hardware installation and driver installation. The sequence of these two steps varies, depending on the printer. If it is a serial port printer, it is generally connected to the printer first, and then the driver is installed. If it is a USB port printer, it is generally connected to the printer after the driver is installed. (See the instructions carefully) 1、 Printer hardware installation
In fact, now the computer hardware interface is very standardized. You can only connect one end of the printer's data cable to the computer, so it will not be connected incorrectly. This part is omitted.
2、 Driver installation
If the driver installation disk is provided as an executable file, the simplest way to run SETUP.exe directly is to follow the installation wizard prompts step by step.
If only driver files are provided, installation is relatively troublesome. Here we take Windows XP system as an example. First open the control panel, then the printer and fax icons in the two section panel.

Then the following window will pop up:
This window will display all installed printers (including network printers). To install a new printer, click Add Printer on the left, and then the Add Printer Wizard will pop up,
Click Next. The following window appears asking whether to install a local printer or a network printer. The default is to install a local printer:
(1) If you install a local printer and click Next, the system will automatically detect the printer type. If there is a driver for the printer in the system, the system will automatically install it. If there is no automatic installation, an error will be reported. Click Next to open the following window:
In general, the default value should be used here. Click Next to pop up a window asking about the printer type:
If you can find the corresponding manufacturer and model in the left and right lists, select them directly and click Next; If not, we need to provide the driver location, click Install from Disk, and then select the location of your driver in the pop-up dialog box, such as floppy disk drive, CD, etc. After finding the correct location, click Open (if the provided location is incorrect, click Open and there will be no response, suggesting you re select), and the system will start to install, Then the system prompts you to give a name to the printer being installed, and asks whether to use it as the default printer (that is, the corresponding printer after issuing the print command), as shown below:
Click Next after selecting. Then the following window appears, asking whether to print the test page. Generally, the newly installed printer should be tested:
After selecting, click Next, and then click OK to complete the entire installation process.
