In 1980, the Ministry of Electronics Industry made the decision of "Xidian to assist in the construction of Guidian, and Chengdian to assist in the construction of Hangzhou". Yuanwanggu Gymnasium was officially put into use in May 2017. It is a comprehensive stadium integrating daily development of sports projects, large-scale high-level events, cultural activities, sports training, conference and exhibition, hotel catering, leisure and entertainment, and youth quality cultivation.
