Initial construction development

  • National Beiping Senior Industrial Vocational School
In 1946 Shen Jianshi Chen Guangxi With the advocacy and efforts of others, Beiping Advanced Industrial Vocational School was founded. At the end of April, the "National Senior Engineer" began to enroll students. In order to improve the conditions for running a school, the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Economic Affairs, through consultation, temporarily loaned a Japanese Chinese iron factory in Xizhimen to the school. The school is subordinate to the Ministry of Education of the National Government and is "national" in nature.
Historical evolution
In July 1947, the school was ordered by the Ministry of Education not to enroll girls. Six female students were recruited in the first two periods. In September, the new school building was completed, and students were able to move into classes. The school ordered a batch of new machines, motors, mining, metallurgy and other instruments from the United States. Xia, the "National Resources Committee" entrusted the Ministry of Education to transfer orders to the national senior engineers to add "secondary technology department", which consists of two groups: machinery and telecommunications.
In October 1948, the Ministry of Education instructed the mechanical group and telecommunications group of the national senior engineer and the secondary technical department to continue to recruit students. In addition, a new telecommunications section was added.
From July to September 1949, North China University moved from Jingxing Mining Area in Hebei Province to Peiping in batches. Its main college and its subordinate university departments were stationed in Sino French University, while the higher vocational department was stationed in the national senior engineer. After the establishment of the Central People's Government, the school was under the direct leadership of the Central Ministry of Heavy Industry. On October 6, the "National Senior Engineer" changed the name of the school from "Beiping" to "Beijing", that is, the "National Beiping Higher Vocational School of Industry" to "National Beijing Higher Vocational School of Industry". The school is positioned as "a school that systematically trains intermediate technical cadres serving the heavy industry of the new democratic country".
At the beginning of 1950, Beijing senior engineers moved into the Chunqin Palace. On January 1, the Higher Vocational Department of Huada officially merged with the National Higher Vocational College. On December 20, the National Beijing Senior Industrial Vocational School was renamed "Beijing Heavy Industry School".
On January 1, 1951, the original "Beijing High tech" was officially renamed as "Beijing Heavy Industry School", and the new school seal was launched. The school set up a new steel rolling department on the original basis. In addition, the China Geological Industry Planning Steering Committee entrusted Beijing Re school to set up the exploration department on its behalf. [3]

  • Beijing Iron and Steel Industry School
In March 1952, the Ministry of Heavy Industry prepared to divide Beijing Heavy Industry School into "Beijing Machine Manufacturing School" and "Beijing Iron and Steel Industry School". In the summer vacation, with the approval of the Ministry of Heavy Industry, 83 students of two grades in the exploration department were transferred to the school affiliated to the Central Ministry of Geology to study, and the specialty of mechanical equipment in metallurgical plants was added. In August, the preparatory groups of the two universities jointly recruited students in the name of Beijing Heavy Industry School. On December 8, the "Beijing Machine Building School" was announced to be established. "Beijing Iron and Steel Industry School" was also established at the same time, and the school is led by the Iron and Steel Bureau of the Ministry of Heavy Industry.

In 1953, the school officially settled in Xihuang Village, Shijingshan District.
On January 15, 1954, Beijing Iron and Steel Industrial School moved from Houhaibei River to a new school. In May, with the approval of the Municipal Education Bureau, the Beijing Iron and Steel Industrial School Staff Children's Primary School was established. In July, with the approval of the Ministry of Heavy Industry, 337 students and 21 teaching staff from 8 classes of 3 majors, namely, metal mining, mineral processing and coking, were transferred to Anshan No.1 Iron and Steel Industrial School together with relevant teaching instruments and equipment.
In 1955, according to the decision of the State Council, the school was under the direct leadership of the Ministry of Heavy Industry.
In June 1956, after the Ministry of Metallurgical Industry, the Ministry of Chemical Industry and the Ministry of Building Materials, the school was led by the Ministry of Metallurgical Industry. In August, the Ministry of Metallurgical Industry opened the "Metallurgical Industry Part of Secondary Vocational School Teachers' Training College" in Beijing Iron and Steel Industrial School.
  • Beijing Metallurgical Electromechanical College
In February 1958, according to the notice of the Ministry of Metallurgical Industry, the Metallurgical Industry Department of Teachers' Training College of Secondary Vocational School was suspended. In July, the affiliated steel plant broke ground in Yangzhuang. In October, with the consent of the Ministry of Metallurgical Industry and the Beijing Municipal Party Committee, Beijing Iron and Steel Institute was upgraded to Beijing Metallurgical Electromechanical College.
On October 6, 1959, the Ministry of Metallurgical Industry handed over the Beijing Metallurgical College to the leadership of Shijingshan Iron and Steel Co., Ltd. according to the central government's opinions on colleges and secondary technical schools.

Tortuous development

  • Beijing Iron and Steel School
At the beginning of 1960, the Ministry of Metallurgical Industry planned to transform Beijing Metallurgical College into Beijing Metallurgical Normal University, but it was not realized. On May 27, with the consent of the Beijing Municipal Party Committee, Beijing Metallurgy College was upgraded to Shijingshan Metallurgy College.

In April 1961, the school transferred all the students of the apprentice class who entered the school in 1960 to the Technical School of Shijingshan Iron and Steel Company. On October 19, the affiliated iron and steel plant was suspended, and the employees were successively decentralized.
In 1962, the factory buildings, sites and production equipment for ironmaking, steelmaking and rolling of the affiliated iron and steel plants were handed over to Beijing Special Iron and Steel Plant and Shigang Company respectively.
In April 1963, Shijingshan Institute of Metallurgy was reclassified as a leader of the Ministry of Metallurgical Industry. On August 5, the Ministry of Metallurgy Industry issued a notice, deciding to adjust Shijingshan Metallurgy College to Beijing Iron and Steel School, carry out secondary professional education, with a schooling period of four years, and determine five majors, including iron making, steel making, steel rolling, metallurgical machinery, and electrical equipment for industrial enterprises.
In 1966, after the "Cultural Revolution" began, the school stopped recruiting students. After June 3, all students in school were suspended.
In July 1969, the school was led by the Capital Iron and Steel Company, and the technician school of the Capital Iron and Steel Company (Shougang Technical School) was incorporated into the Beijing Iron and Steel School.
In the autumn of 1971, the school opened a training class for the Capital Iron and Steel Company, covering four disciplines, namely iron making, steel making, machinery and electrical equipment. There were about 370 students, all from the factories and mines of the Capital Iron and Steel Company, and the training class was organized into three companies.
In October 1972, Beijing Iron and Steel School resumed enrollment.
In June 1975 and November 1976, according to the arrangement of the Capital Iron and Steel Company, the school enrolled two batches of "July 21" workers' college classes, a total of 322 people, with three majors: civil construction engineering, metallurgical machinery, and electrification automation of metallurgical plants. Except for the civil engineering class, the education system is two years, and the mechanical and electrical majors are two and a half years.
In 1977 and 1978, the school opened teacher classes and foreman classes for the Ministry of Metallurgical Industry and the Capital Iron and Steel Company.

Transformation and development

  • Beijing Metallurgical Electromechanical University
In the middle of April 1978, the Capital Iron and Steel Company proposed to the Ministry of Metallurgical Industry, the Ministry of Education and the Beijing Municipal Party Committee of the Communist Party of China to transform Beijing Iron and Steel School into Beijing Metallurgical Electromechanical Institute. In June, the Technical School of the Capital Iron and Steel Company was separated from the Beijing Iron and Steel School. On December 28, with the approval of the State Council, Beijing Iron and Steel School was cancelled and Beijing Metallurgical Electromechanical Institute was established on the basis of Beijing Iron and Steel School.
In May 1979, the College established the Department of Metallurgy and the Department of Electromechanical Engineering.
From 1980 to 1983, entrusted by the Ministry of Metallurgical Industry, the college held six courses for leaders of metallurgical institutions.
In 1984, the school was under the leadership of China Nonferrous Metals Industry Corporation. On May 12, with the approval of the municipal government, the college acquired 94 mu of land. In October, the college decided to pilot the credit system in all undergraduate majors.
  • North China University of Technology
In 1985, with the approval of the State Council, Beijing Institute of Metallurgy and Electromechanical Engineering was renamed as North China University of Technology.
In December 1993, the university officially became the fifth batch of units authorized to confer master's degrees nationwide.
On October 20, 1994, the former China Nonferrous Metals Industry Corporation decided to merge the Nonferrous Metals Management Cadre College with North China University of Technology, and continue to retain the names of North China University of Technology and Nonferrous Metals Management Cadre College.
On January 15, 1995, the Graduate Department was established.
In 1998, according to the documents of the General Office of the State Council, the Ministry of Education and other departments, 81 ordinary colleges and universities, including the North China University of Technology, implemented the management system of co construction between the central and local governments, focusing on local management, and the schools were under the management of Beijing. On September 23, the former State Nonferrous Industry Bureau and the former State Coal Industry Bureau decided to cancel the establishment of the Nonferrous Metals Management Cadre College and merge it into North China Mining College (now North China University of Science and Technology )。
In June 1999, after strict demonstration by Beijing Municipal Education Commission, the school was approved to hold Higher vocational and technical education [4]
In 2002, the school was officially established Graduate Department , co located with the Scientific Research Office.
In August 2003, with the approval of the Beijing Municipal Government, the school agreed to requisition the land adjacent to the school and build the southeast campus of the school.
On April 20, 2006, North China University of Technology and Beijing University of Technology China Youth Political College Jointly declared“ National Cultural Quality Education Base for College Students ”Approved.
In October 2011, the university was selected into the second batch of colleges and universities in the excellent engineer education and training program of the Ministry of Education.
In December 2012, with the approval of the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council, the university was qualified to serve the special needs of the country.
