PLA Communication Engineering College
The former Communication Engineering College has experienced the changes of "Red Army School", "Yan'an School", "Military Commission School of Engineering", "Western Military Power", and "Communication Engineering College", and is the pioneer, builder, educator, and reformer of the military communication industry. In 1959, it was listed as one of the 20 key universities in China.
Starting with half of the radio stations, the Red Army has set up radio teams and run radio training courses;By 1931, it had founded the Central Military Commission Radio School, located in Ruijin, Jiangxi Province, which was the first engineering and technical school established by the Communist Party of China; In 1935, it was renamed the Central Military Commission Radio Communication School; On October 10, 1934, the Red Army began the Long March.Running schools on the march has become an innovation of the Red Army.
With the meeting of teachers during the Long March, Tongxue also took root in Yan'an. At that time, its full name was "Communication School of the Eighth Route Army of the National Revolution", or "Yan'an Tongxue" for short.
In 1948, the Radio Communication School of the Central Military Commission, the Telecommunication Engineering College of the Shanxi Hebei Luyu Military Region (founded in 1947), the Communication School of the Shanxi Hebei Luyu Military Region (founded in 1945), the Meteorological Team of the Central Military Commission (founded in 1944), and the Telecommunication Team of the Third Bureau of the Central Military Commission (founded in 1948) jointly established the Telecommunication Engineering College of the North China Military Region; In 1949, the Youth Training Class of the Central Working Committee was incorporated; In 1949, the Engineering School of the Revolutionary Military Commission of the Central People's Government (commonly known as Zhangjiakou Military Commission Engineering School) was rebuilt and located in Zhangjiakou, Hebei Province.
In 1952, Dalian Institute of Technology (Department of Telecommunications) and Southwest Military Region Communication School (Department of Engineering) were merged; In 1952, it was upgraded to the Communication Engineering College of the Chinese People's Liberation Army;In 1952, it was renamed Military Communication Engineering College of the Chinese People's Liberation Army;In 1955, it was renamed the PLA Communication Institute; In 1958, it was renamed the PLA Signal Corps Academy; In 1959, it was listed as one of the national key universities; In 1960, it was renamed the Military Communication Engineering College of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (initially known as Western Military Electronics).
In 1961, Xi'an Military Telecommunication Engineering College (Radar Navigation Department) and Chongqing Communication Corps Technical School (established in 1955) merged to form the PLA Radar Engineering College; In 1963, the PLA Radar Engineering College was renamed the PLA Signal Corps Engineering College.
In 1969, 6 colleges and universities including the Signal Corps Engineering College, Hankou Communication Technology School of the People's Liberation Army (founded in 1949), Xuanhua Communication School, and Shenyang Signal Corps College of the People's Liberation Army were merged to establish the PLA Signal Corps Engineering School.
In 1973, the Communication Corps Engineering School (part of it) was separated and the PLA Communication Engineering College was established.Others later became Xi'an Communication Institute of the People's Liberation Army and Chongqing Communication Institute of the People's Liberation Army.
In 1994, with the approval of the General Military Training Department, the age of the Communication Engineering College was calculated from February 1931.
engineer corps engineering college
The original Engineering Corps Engineering College was founded in September 1953 by the Engineering Corps Engineering Department of Harbin Military Engineering College.
In 1961, the Engineering Department of the Military Engineering College of the People's Liberation Army (Harbin Military Industry) moved to Xi'an to establish the Engineering College of the Engineering Corps.
In 1969, based on the Xi'an Engineering Corps Engineering College, the engineering corps engineering technology school was gathered to establish an engineering corps school in Nanjing.
In 1977, the name of "Engineering Corps Engineering College" was restored.
In 1995, it was listed in 17 key construction colleges and universities of the whole army.
Air Force Meteorological Institute
In 1950, the Meteorological Cadre School of the Meteorological Bureau of the Military Commission was established.
In 1953, it was upgraded to Beijing Meteorological College.
In 1955, it was renamed the PLA Meteorological College.
In 1960, it was upgraded to the PLA Meteorological School.
In 1962, the airport architecture and meteorology majors of the Air Force Engineering Department of the PLA Military Engineering College were incorporated.
In 1969, the Third Academy of the Air Force was rebuilt and moved from Beijing to Nanjing.
In 1975, the Air Force Meteorological School was rebuilt.
In 1979, the Department of Meteorology of the former Air Force Engineering College was accepted and renamed Air Force Meteorology College, which was listed in the ranks of higher technical colleges in the whole military. It is an institution of higher learning in the whole military to train military meteorological science and technology cadres.
Incorporated into PLA University of Science and Technology
In 1999, the PLA Institute of Communication Engineering, the Engineering Corps Engineering College, the Air Force Meteorological College and the 63rd Research Institute of the General Staff merged to form the PLA University of Science and Technology.
ordnance engineering college
In March 1947, in order to meet the needs of the rapidly developing situation of the War of Liberation for technical support personnel, the Logistics Department of the East China Field Army created the earliest predecessor of the Academy of Ordnance Engineering - the Ordnance Training Team of the Logistics Department of the East China Military Region in Zhucheng, Shandong Province.
In 1948, the Northeast Field Army established the Logistics Youth Cadre School in Shenyang.
In June 1949, the Logistics Department of the Military Commission set up an ordnance training team in Tongxian County, Beijing, under the instruction of Vice Chairman Zhou Enlai to "train a group of ordnance personnel at once". Yang Lisan, the head of the General Logistics Department, personally served as the team leader. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, these training institutions have further developed and improved, and initially formed a training system consisting of Wuchang Advanced Ordnance Technical School, Tongxian Ordnance School, Nanjing Ordnance School and Shenyang and Wuchang Technical Military Schools to cultivate ordnance professionals at different levels.
In September 1969, like most military academies, these ordnance academies were cancelled or suspended, destroying a training system for ordnance professionals that had just begun to take shape.
At the end of 1973, the Central Military Commission decided to rebuild the Ordnance Technical School (a division level unit) under the General Logistics Department. In August 1974, the ground was officially broken in Shijiazhuang. After a year of intensive construction, the first phase of enrollment and training was held in September 1975 (the reconstruction time is calculated from here).
In 1978, the school expanded its training tasks, added undergraduate students, and upgraded to the military rank;In February 1979, it was approved as a national key university and renamed as Advanced Ordnance School; In August 1983, it was changed to the Institute of Ordnance Technology.
In August 1986, it was named Ordnance Engineering College; In March, the Ordnance Repairer Training Brigade of the Logistics Department of the Wuhan Military Region was separated and merged into the Ordnance Officer Training Brigade of the Academy of Ordnance Engineering.
In August 1992, the ordnance sergeant training team of the Academy of Ordnance Engineering was separated to establish Wuhan Ordnance NCO School.
In September 1992, the College was transferred to the General Staff Department as a military level unit;In December 1995, it was identified as the key construction college of the military graduate training unit;
In February 1996, it was approved to establishcenter for post-doctoral studies ;In May, the college was transferred to the General Equipment Department; In June, it became one of the 12 comprehensive colleges and universities in the military.
In 2000, it became a key military college.[5]
Consolidated development
In 2017, the PLA Army Engineering University was established on the basis of the PLA University of Science and Technology and the Academy of Ordnance Engineering. The PLA Army Engineering University is a teaching and research oriented comprehensive university that attaches equal importance to talent training and scientific research, and integrates engineering technology with battle command.[2]
