In the growth period of children, their curiosity is strong, often causing them to fall, bruise, or even fracture. The child's accidental fracture, whether it is cast, braces or surgery, is very troublesome to nurse, and may be injured again accidentally; How can parents take care of him so that he can recover as soon as possible?

Generally, after plaster casting, the upper limb fracture should be suspended in front of the chest with a sling to prevent swelling and pain caused by drooping or random swinging of the affected limb. If water plaster is used, try to prevent it from contacting with water, so as not to deform the plaster, compress the skin or affect the bone healing.

In contrast, wearing braces is not as troublesome as plaster. It is light, waterproof and can be disassembled at any time. Whether it is possible to open the brace to scrub and scratch the child must be communicated with the doctor, and only after the doctor agrees, otherwise it is easy to cause fracture displacement. Also note that the brace should not be directly attached to the skin, and a soft cloth must be worn inside. If the child sweats, it should be replaced in time; At the same time, pay attention to the condition of the skin to see if there is any damage or pathological changes.

If minimally invasive external fixation is performed after fracture, parents should pay attention to that the needle eye should be wiped with iodophor cotton ball every day to disinfect, and the dirty blood around the needle hole should be wiped off to keep the operation site clean and dry; In addition, don't wrap the needle eye, just expose it normally.

Ensure the children rest and nutrition. Generally, children should stay in bed for 4-7 days, after fracture, to facilitate the fixation of the fracture end and the detumescence of the limbs. Eat light diet, eat more fresh vegetables and fruits, and increase food with more calcium and zinc to promote fracture healing. Pay attention to the functional exercise of the affected limb. During the fixation period, parents should encourage or cooperate with the child to exercise the affected limb function, so that the fracture can heal quickly and recover quickly.
