The active boy suddenly became "quiet" and suffered from hip synovitis

   Chongqing Business Daily micro-blog

Taotao, a lively 4-year-old boy who lives in Renhe, Yubei District, suddenly became a quiet and cute baby and limped when he walked. Last week, his parents sent him to the hospital for examination, only to understand that Taotao became quiet because of acute hip synovitis in children.

Professor Li Ming, director of the Orthopaedic Center of Children's Hospital, said that Taotao suffered from this disease. He was too active in peacetime and exercised a lot. In addition, he had an inflammation of his teeth. The onset age of children's hip synovitis is usually 2~12 years old. Boys are more than girls. Most children have suffered from upper respiratory tract infection, tonsillitis, pharyngitis, tooth inflammation, etc. within four weeks before the onset. According to Li Ming, winter is a high incidence period for children with acute hip synovitis. On average, 2 to 3 children with this disease are admitted to the orthopedic clinic of the Children's Hospital every day. Li Ming suggested that parents should pay attention to the amount of activity of their children at ordinary times to avoid injury to the joint capsule caused by overwork due to large amount of activity. In addition, keep warm to avoid virus infection and joint capsule injury caused by cold or catching cold.
