We can't do without two things: smart phones and computers. Nowadays, smart phones are developing so fast that they can easily replace computers to complete some tasks, such as email, watching videos and browsing the web. No matter what your main equipment is, sooner or later you will need to transfer data between your mobile phone and your computer.
Here we will introduce five different methods, each of which has different preparation work and file transfer speed. You can choose the most suitable method according to your situation. Among them, the simplest and fastest file transfer method is to use USB data cable or USB flash disk. If there is no data cable, you can use Bluetooth, WiFi or third-party applications. Wifi has a fast transmission speed, while Bluetooth is much slower; Third party applications are not restricted by location. As long as there is an Internet connection, you can access your files anywhere in the world.
This article will take Windows 10 computers and Huawei mobile phones as examples. Other brands of mobile phones (including iPhone) are also applicable, but the operation may vary depending on the model of the mobile phone.
The first method: connect with USB data cable
Most smart phones on the market support USB, so this may be a good choice. The feature is that the file transfer speed is fast, but it has a distance limit, because the data can only be transferred within the range of the USB data cable.
Basically, all you need to do is to use the phone charging cable (USB data cable) to connect to the computer. Once the phone is recognized, you can transfer files to each other. The specific steps are as follows:
(1) First, use the USB cable to connect the computer and mobile phone. The USB data cable commonly used for charging can also be used for file transfer (Note: some data cables can only be charged, and data transfer is not possible.)
(2) After the connection, three USB connection modes appear on the phone screen, and the transfer file is selected as the purpose.
(3) When "This computer" is opened in Explorer, the mobile phone (①) connected via USB data line will be displayed. Just like external storage, open a folder and copy photos to the computer by dragging and dropping (②).
The second method: U disk is used to carry and store files, and it is also convenient to use it for transmission
If you often use a USB flash drive on your computer, try using it to transfer files with your phone. However, you can't directly insert the USB stick into the phone, because the type of charging interface of the phone is different from the ordinary USB interface, and the adapter is required for conversion. Check whether the phone charging interface type is Type-C or micro USB, and prepare the adapter.
adapter
(1) Connect the USB stick to the phone. The converter connects the USB stick to the phone, and it will be recognized as an external storage device, just like the SD card.
(2) After connection, you can check whether the USB stick is correctly recognized by entering "Storage" in "Settings" (①). If it is recognized, it will be displayed as a USB stick (②).
(3) Open the "File Management" or similar application on the phone, select "Internal Storage" (①), and long press the folder or file to be copied (②) to select multiple items. Click "Copy" from the bottom menu (③), and then specify the copy destination. Open other positions (④) in the bottom menu, select the target USB stick (⑤), specify the target folder (⑥) in the USB stick, and execute "Paste" (⑦). You can also use the "Move" function to complete the transmission. Similar operations are performed from USB flash drive to mobile phone.
The third method: Bluetooth connection
If you are out of the house and do not have a USB cable or converter (adapter), you cannot connect to the Internet. This is a good choice. The advantage of this method is that you do not need to prepare any equipment in advance, because all computers and mobile phones are standard equipment. However, the file transfer speed is the slowest among the five. You can simply transfer documents and photos.
1. When using Bluetooth to transfer files, the phone and computer must be paired
(1) First, turn on the Bluetooth function of the smartphone so that the computer can detect it. Enter "Settings" → "Bluetooth" and turn on this function.
(2) Turn on the Bluetooth function on the computer. Select Start>Settings>Devices>Bluetooth and Other Devices, then open Bluetooth and click Add Bluetooth or Other Devices, and select Bluetooth in the Add Device window.
(3) Select the name of the phone to be connected, and the PIN code will be displayed on the computer and phone screens. Confirm that the PIN code of the computer and the phone are the same, and then pair them.
2. Send files from your computer to your phone
Right click the file to be sent, and select Send To ->Bluetooth Device from the menu. Double click the target phone, and when the notification is displayed on the phone, click "Accept". The file will be transferred and stored in the Bluetooth folder of the phone. If you use the File Management app to open this folder, you will see the received files. [Note: If the Bluetooth connection is unstable, please install the Bluetooth driver provided by the manufacturer.]
3. Send files from your phone to your computer
(1) Click the Bluetooth icon in the computer notification area. Select "Receive File" in the pop-up menu. Then the following window will appear, waiting for the connection.
(2) On your phone, select the files that will be sent to your computer. Click the "Share" icon and select "Bluetooth" from the menu that appears, then select the paired computer. After receiving, you can specify a folder to save.
The fourth method: WiFi (wireless LAN or WLAN)
If you want to transmit large files or huge transfers to each other wirelessly, we recommend using the fourth WiFi. The only condition is that the computer and mobile phone must be connected to the same wireless router: on the computer, enter the "Wireless Network (WLAN)" icon in the notification area to view; On the phone, enter "WLAN" in "Settings" to view.
Huawei mobile phones transfer (share) files between mobile phones and computers through "Huawei Sharing", which is achieved through wireless LAN.
(1) On the mobile phone, go to Settings>More Connections>Huawei Sharing, and turn on Huawei sharing and sharing to the computer.
(2) View and record the computer display name and user name and password for computer access verification.
(3) Open "This computer (computer)">"Network" on the computer. Double click the display name of the phone on the computer side, and enter the recorded user name and password to verify.
(4) You can transfer files to each other by entering shared folders such as internal storage or photo albums.
The fifth method: third-party application
It is not restricted by location. As long as there is an Internet connection, computers and mobile phones have the same application, and files can be transferred to each other anywhere in the world. There are many types of applications, such as online disks (cloud disks), email, social tools, etc. Online disk (cloud disk) is the most common. Data is saved to the cloud disk, and then files are downloaded and uploaded through the cloud disk to achieve mutual transmission. Sharing files via email is also one of the easiest and fastest ways. Social tools are also commonly used.
1. Online disk
(1) Upload files from the computer to the network disk.
(2) Open the network disk on the phone and download the required files.
2. E-mail
(1) Log in to your email on your computer and attach files to your email. Add recipients and send them.
(2) Open the email on your phone and download the file.
