Software Introduction

Kubernetes (usually called K8s) is an open source container cluster management system from Google Cloud Platform, which is used to automatically deploy, extend and manage containerized applications. The system is based on Docker Build a container scheduling service.

Kubernetes can automatically select a work container for use in a container cluster. Its core concept is Container Pod. For detailed design ideas, please refer to here

Kubernetes is designed by Google and donated to the Cloud Native Computing Foundation. It is designed to provide a platform for automatic deployment, expansion and running of application containers across host clusters. It supports a series of container tools, including Docker.

Does Kubernetes need to provide a long-term support version (LTS)?

Kubernetes currently follows the "N-2 Support Policy", which means that there are only three latest minor versions (N N-1 and N-2) will get security and bug fixes, and the release cycle is 15 weeks. Therefore, the support period of a Kubernetes version is usually 14 months (12 months' support period and 2 months' upgrade period). If we compare it with Debian (an operating system project based on its support cycle in many organizations), we will find a direct difference between the two. As you can see, As an infrastructure project, the iteration cycle of Kubernetes still makes many companies unable to keep up with the development

KubeCube open source: six features to simplify Kubernetes landing

Since the development of container technology, there has been a general consensus on the benefits brought by various industries, such as multi environment delivery consistency, elastic scaling, fault self-healing, etc. The realization of these benefits depends on the Kubernetes platform, the current de facto standard in the field of container choreography. However, The complexity of Kubernetes and the steep learning curve are also indisputable facts, which have a great impact on the implementation and application of container technology. According to IDC's latest semi annual tracking report on the software definition computing software market, the container software market will still maintain a compound growth rate of more than 40% in the next five years, but the container infrastructure software will account for
