    Historical evolution

Yunan County is both a mountainous county and a county along the river, which benefited from the river and developed earlier. The Qin Dynasty belonged to Guilin County, and the Han Dynasty belonged to Cangwu County. At the beginning, it was under the jurisdiction of Duanxi County.

In the first year of Taikang in the Western Jin Dynasty (280 years), Duluo County (now Yunandu Town) and Wucheng County were divided from Duanxi County. It is under the jurisdiction of Cangwu County.

In the fifth year of Yonghe in the Eastern Jin Dynasty (349), Jinhua County (now Nanjiangkou and Nanyao) was divided from Duanxi County. Later, Duluo County and Jinhua County were changed to Jinkang County (Yuanxi County, now east of Deqing County).

During the Southern Song Dynasty (424~453), the two counties of Duluo and Wucheng were merged and renamed as Ducheng County (the name of the capital, from which it came), and Ansui County (now Liantan Town in Yunan) was separated from Duanxi County. During the Southern Qi Dynasty (479-502), Weicheng County was separated from Duanxi County (the county was under the jurisdiction of the current town built in Yunan).

In the fourth year of Liangping in the Southern Dynasty (523), Luoyang Prefecture was set up in the Guluo River (Wenchang River) basin, and part of today's Yunan County was designated as this prefecture. At the beginning of Sui Dynasty, Luoyang County was changed into Luoyang County.

In the ninth year of Emperor Kaihuang's reign (589), Ducheng County was replaced by Cangwu County due to the abolition of Jinkang County.

In the 12th year of Emperor Kaihuang's reign (592), Jinhua County and Weicheng County were merged into Ducheng County.

In the 18th year of Emperor Kaihuang's reign (598), Luoyang County was renamed Zhengyi County.

In the third year of Daye (607), Zhengyi County was merged into Longshui County of Yongxi County. Ansui County was also transferred to Yongxi County.

The Tang Dynasty carried out the system of prefectures and counties. Ducheng County was renamed as Kangzhou, and Ansui County was renamed as Jinkang County from Yongxi County to Kangzhou.

In the fifth year of Kaibao in the Song Dynasty (972), the capital and Jinkang counties were merged into Duanxi County, and were subordinate to Deqing Mansion, Guangnan East Road.

The Yuan Dynasty followed the Song system. Only Deqing Mansion was renamed Deqing Road. Today, Yunan County is still one of the areas under the jurisdiction of Deqing Road.

In the Ming Dynasty, Deqing Road was renamed Deqing Mansion, and soon Deqing Mansion was reduced to Deqing Prefecture, under the jurisdiction of Zhaoqing Mansion.

In the fifth year of Wanli period (1577), Longshui County set up the "Xishan Cave" (the former Yao and Zhuang ethnic minority inhabited area in the southeast of Yunan County), Deqing Prefecture set up Xining County, and the county seat was the Taiping City (today's town). It belongs to Luoding Prefecture.

In the 14th year of Wanli (1586), five districts were allocated from Xinyi County, namely Dingkang, Xinfeng, Congshan, Penhua and Zhennan, to Xining County. In the 22nd year of Qianlong's reign (1757), four confident people, Dingkang, Xinfeng, Congshan and Enlightening, were still in Xinyi.

In January of the third year of the Republic of China (1914), because Xining County had the same name as Xining City, Qinghai Province, and Yunan County was located in the south of the ancient Yushui River (Xijiang River), it was renamed Yunan County.

After the founding of the People's Republic of China, Yunan County was subordinate to the Xijiang Commissioner's Office. In April 1950, the People's Government of Yunan County moved from the current Jiancheng to the capital.

In November 1958, Yunan County and Luoding County were merged; It is named Luonan County and is under the jurisdiction of Jiangmen Commissioner's Office.

In January 1959, Luonan County was renamed Luoding County.

In April 1961, the CPC Zhaoqing Prefecture Committee decided to restore the establishment of Yunan County. In 1977, Yunan County was affiliated to Zhaoqing Commissioner's Office. In 1979, the Zhaoqing District Commissioner's Office was renamed as the Zhaoqing District Administrative Office, and Yunan County was subsequently renamed as an official.

On January 7, 1988, Guangdong Province implemented the system of city governing county, and Yunan County was under the jurisdiction of Zhaoqing Municipal People's Government.

In April 1994, the State Council approved the establishment of prefecture level Yunfu City, and Yunan County was under the jurisdiction of Yunfu City.
