The traffic conditions of Yunan County are relatively convenient and developed by water in history, while the land traffic is relatively backward, which has become a soft rib hindering economic development. After 1979, in order to meet the needs of economic development, improve the investment environment, implement the road construction policy of "privately run and publicly funded" and "migrant workers working hard", raise funds by means of fund-raising, donation, loans, and state subsidies, and accelerate the pace of construction. In 1994, the county party committee and the county government put forward the working idea of "building a big channel and improving the overall environment", focusing on highway construction as the key work of infrastructure and improving the investment environment, and the county's highway construction has developed rapidly. In 1997, all villages in the county were basically connected to roads; On May 1, 1999, Nanjiangkou Town of Yunan County and Deqing Xijiang Bridge in Deqing County were completed and opened to traffic. Provincial highways 352 and 368 were connected with national highway 321 through Xijiang Bridge, gradually improving traffic; In 2012, Shuangfeng Shuangdong Section of Yunluo Expressway was completed and opened to traffic; From 2015 to 2021, the construction of a batch of first-class highways, such as the construction of the first class highway (high-speed railway avenue) from Yunan County Ducheng to Yunan Station of Nanguang Railway, and the reconstruction of the section from Huatan to high-speed railway station at Nanjiangkou of the provincial highway S368, has been completed successively, realizing the connection and speed increase of high-speed railway area, and making people travel conveniently and efficiently; The Yunan section of Huaiyang Expressway was completed and opened to traffic, connecting Erguang, Guangfo Zhaohua and Guangwu Expressway to form a "thousand mile tourism gallery", improving the layout of expressway network in northwest Guangdong; The first class highway from Shuangdong entrance and exit of Luoyang Yangtse Expressway to Qianguan was completed and opened to traffic. The communication between Yunan and Luoding was enhanced, and the comprehensive capacity of the transportation network was improved. From 1994 to 2022, 734.6 kilometers of new roads and 803.6 kilometers of reconstructed roads (cement roads and asphalt roads) will be built in the county.

By the end of 2022, the county will have 2063.841km of roads open to traffic, including 102.078km of Yunan section of Guangwu, Yuncen and Huaiyang expressways (including entrance and exit sections), 102.554km of expressways, 118.488km of national roads, 396.878km of provincial roads (160.272km of which have been raised according to provincial standards, 236.515km of which have not been raised according to provincial standards), and 347.798km of county roads, Township roads are 495.069km long, and village roads are 705.608km long. All 15 towns in the county have hard roads to villages, and all 177 village committees have concrete roads. Class I highway is 12.498 km long and Class II highway is 384.186 km long. There are 64 kilometers of Xijiang waterway, two port areas along the line, namely, the capital and Nanjiangkou. The shoreline of the port should be 8485 meters. There are many inland ports, docks, highway bridges, highway stations and other facilities in the county. The county has built a highway transportation network with provincial roads as the trunk lines, county roads as the branch lines, and village roads as the thread, with secondary roads leading to Shida Town, a bridge connecting to national roads, and cement roads leading to villages, creating a good transportation environment for local economic development.

Highway and railway

Yunan Bus

Since 2018, Yunan County has continuously introduced pure electric environmentally friendly buses to replace old diesel buses on the original lines, increasing vehicle investment and increasing shift density. By the end of 2022, there will be 20 urban and rural bus lines in the whole county, 18 bus shelters in the urban area (6 of which are harbor type), 5 bus charging and maintenance yards, 178 new energy and environmental friendly buses, and the pure electrification rate of buses will reach 96%.
