He decided to go to Hengchang Village to arrange flood control in the heavy rain. Accidental distress gives up the chance of escape twice

On the morning of May 11, 2022, the news of landslides in some sections of Lixi Town came from Songbai Village. At 9:30 in the morning, Li Dingxin, the first secretary of Songbai Village Du Hongshan and the secretary of Songbai Village Party Committee Zeng Guofeng drove to the scene in the heavy rain.

Drive to the Songziba low water bridge, when the river has flooded the bridge surface, about 8 cm deep. The three men immediately pulled up the warning line to stop the villagers from passing, and planned to deal with the dangerous situation on the other side of the river. The accident happened at this time. When the vehicle reached the middle of the bridge, a torrent rushed from their left side, and the whole vehicle fell into the river. The torrential flood constantly pushed the car downstream. There was a bamboo forest on both sides of the river, and several inclined bamboo poles were across the water. Zeng Guofeng recalled that when the car drifted downstream, Li Dingxin pulled the bamboo pole twice, but he didn't climb out of the window, but he wanted to pull the whole car to the bank with his help, but the car was too heavy, and Li Dingxin couldn't pull it at last.

"Li Dingxin wanted to rescue us together. He could have cared only about himself. If he had climbed out with a bamboo pole in his arms, he would have been fine." Recalling the picture at that time, Zeng Guofeng choked up.

In less than a minute, the vehicle was washed to the dam tail bridge about 100 meters downstream and began to sink after being stuck by the pier. At a critical moment, Zeng Guofeng climbed out of the bridge and Du Hongshan also drilled out of the window. They wanted to quickly pull Li Ding out, but the vehicle quickly sank into the river, and people were no longer visible.

Li Dingxin's safety affects everyone's heart. Nearly 100 town and village cadres and villagers spontaneously formed a search and rescue team to search along the river all night. After a day and night of search and rescue, at noon the next day, they found Li Dingxin's body 700 meters downstream of the low water bridge.

He found that the residents could not solve the problem of water consumption for many years, so he led a team to explore in the streets and alleys, actively coordinated with the relevant departments to build a 5000 meter water pipeline, and solved the problem of domestic water consumption for more than 800 households. In June 2021, Li Dingxin was promoted to be a member of the Party Committee of Lixi Town.
