The opening ceremony of the academic seminar on "Southeast Asian Studies from the Perspective of Regional Ethnology" was held in Xiamen University (picture provided by Zhuang Hua) On the morning of April 27, the 11th annual meeting of the China Association for Southeast Asian Studies and the academic seminar on "Southeast Asian Studies from the Perspective of Regional Ethnology" was held in Xiamen University. The conference was hosted by the China Association for Southeast Asian Studies and hosted by the School of International Relations/Nanyang Research Institute of Xiamen University. Nearly 270 scholars from Peking University, Sun Yat sen University, Yunnan University, Jinan University, Zhengzhou University, Xiamen University and other universities and research institutions attended the meeting. At the meeting, Vice President and Secretary General of China Association for Southeast Asian Studies Li Yiping made a work report on behalf of the Council of the 10th China Association for Southeast Asian Studies, Secretary of the Party Committee of Xiamen University School of International Relations and Nanyang Research Institute Qiu Wangtu awarded a letter of appointment to the academic adviser of the China Association for Southeast Asian Studies. The 11th Council of China Southeast Asia Research Association was elected at the meeting. Zhuang Guotu, a professor of the School of International Relations and the Nanyang Research Institute of Xiamen University, was elected as the honorary president of the 11th Council. Fan Hongwei, a professor of the School of International Relations and the Nanyang Research Institute of Xiamen University and director of the Southeast Asia Research Center, a key research base for humanities and social sciences of the Ministry of Education, was elected as the president of the 11th Council Professor Shen Yanqing of Nanyang Research Institute was elected Secretary General of the 11th Council. The conference will also carry out group academic exchanges and discussions on "Southeast Asian Studies from the Perspective of Regional Ethnology". |
