In August 2023, a journey of exploration belonging to me (member of the 25th Northeast Forestry University postgraduate teaching group in Taijiang) began quietly. I left home for the first time and chose to go there for the first time to engage in the volunteer education career I love, which made my heart palpitate. During the voyage from Harbin to Taijiang, I looked down from the plane and saw the lights on the ground shining like stars. I knew there was a place where a group of children were waiting for me.

The mountains, rocks, terraces, endless roads and mist around the forest are my "first impression" of Taijiang County, Guizhou Province. After a little understanding, I found that the people here are kind and honest, the scenery here is unique and charming, and the children here are pure and kind. So, the little uneasiness lingering in my heart has become firm, and there must be a smile worthy of my protection!

The first time I saw children, the first time I made timid eye contact with them, I wanted to know every one of them. When I learned that most of them were left behind children, I held their hands tightly and wanted to take them forward.

I remember in English class, the children asked me about the world outside the mountain and my hometown thousands of miles away. I smiled and replied, "One day, you will witness everything outside." I gave them a firm look at their desire to understand their dreams outside.

In the first quiz, I felt powerless when I saw the children's immature handwriting and unsatisfactory results. But at the same time, I realized that there is still much I can do. Therefore, I began to grasp dictation and recitation every day, and became the "devil teacher" in children's mouth. Through concerted efforts, the children's academic performance has been greatly improved.

To encourage the children, I distributed candy and books to them. On Teacher's Day, I also received gifts from the children, and had the happy birthday song sung to me by the whole class.

From strangers at first sight to acquaintances now, from incomprehension at first to being friends with each other now, children and I entered each other's lives in this way.

Summer passed and autumn came. I was lucky to participate in the autumn sports meeting of Taijiang No. 1 Middle School. On the field, the children are always so lively. I can't fight side by side with them on the field. I can only look at their figures on the field. "Teacher, look!" Student Wen Jie excitedly handed me the medal of the first place in the race. His excited voice and excited eyes left me a warm feeling. At the end of the semester, I led the children to participate in the English "Four New" knowledge contest and won the first, second and third prizes of the grade group. In the open class held by the school, I received unanimous praise from teachers. My children and I have grown up with each other's company and encouragement.

"Teacher, when I grow up, I will be admitted to your university and go to your city." Hearing the words of the children, I was stunned. I realized the happiness of being a sail. I don't know when I have become a "milestone" for children.

In a twinkling of an eye, the one-year volunteer teaching life is coming to an end.
