Sri Lanka Building Materials Expo will continue to provide a platform for exhibitors around the world to promote cooperation and progress with peers. Therefore, for Chinese exhibitors, the exhibition plays an important role in the building materials industry, and will play an important role as a bridge for Chinese enterprises to explore Sri Lanka and even South Asia markets.
market analysis
Data shows that Sri Lanka has invested 70 billion rupees (about 547 million US dollars) in infrastructure projects such as highways, energy, water conservancy and urban pipe networks last year. Sri Lanka Expressway was completed at the end of 2011. At the same time, the upsurge of infrastructure construction has driven Sri Lanka's large demand for construction machinery and equipment, including construction machinery, pavement equipment, etc. After the end of the civil war in real estate development, Sri Lanka's tourism industry revived. In 2010, Sri Lanka was listed as one of the 31 countries worth visiting by the New York Times.
At present, the country is actively accelerating the construction of domestic transportation network and improving hotel reception capacity, which brings opportunities for the development of the real estate industry. Sri Lanka plans to add 50000 hotel rooms in the next five years. It is reported that 35 five-star hotels have been approved to be built nationwide, including 11 in the capital Colombo. In addition, as Sri Lankan high-end investors and expatriates living in Australia, the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada and other countries believe that high-end apartments are a reliable local investment option, the current development of luxury apartments in Sri Lanka is in full swing.
According to statistics, 50% of high-end apartments in Western Province, especially in Colombo, have been sold before construction. Relevant agencies predict that before 2020, 100000 apartments will be built in Colombo every year to meet the market demand. The prosperity of the local real estate industry has driven the growing demand for aluminum, plastic steel, cement, steel, marble, sanitary ware, maintenance equipment and other materials, while the demand for building materials products in Sri Lanka is almost 100% imported, which provides huge business opportunities for Chinese enterprises.
