Egypt is located in northern Africa, the transportation hub of the three continents of Europe, Asia and Africa. It is a fulcrum country along the "Belt and Road" and one of the BRICS member countries. It borders Sudan to the south, Libya to the west, the Red Sea to the east and Palestine, the Mediterranean Sea to the north and Europe across the sea, Jordan and Saudi Arabia to the southeast. Egypt is the country with the largest population in the Middle East and the second largest population in Africa, and has been in the leading position in Africa in terms of economy, science and technology for a long time.
