On August 4, the founding meeting of Shaanxi Sports Delegation for the 14th National Games was held in Xi'an.

Liu Guozhong, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, attended the meeting and delivered a speech. Zhao Yide, governor of the province, gave the delegation a flag. Fang Guanghua, vice governor and head of the delegation presided over the meeting.

Liu Guozhong, on behalf of the provincial party committee and the provincial government, expressed condolences to the athletes, coaches and all the staff of the 14th National Games. He pointed out that the 14th National Games was a major landmark event held by a country that was an important historical node in the centennial history of the founding of the Communist Party of China, and it was a comprehensive sports meeting hosted by Shaanxi with the highest standard, largest scale and highest competitive level since the founding of New China. The whole province is closely surrounding the implementation of the important instruction of General Secretary Xi Jinping on "hosting a wonderful and complete sports event", striving to be a good host, so as to make the event both wonderful and brilliant. The vast number of athletes and coaches have worked hard to prepare for the training and actively overcome various difficulties. Relevant departments at all levels have strengthened the organization of the competition, made every effort to guarantee and made arduous efforts.

Liu Guozhong stressed that now the horn of the charge has been sounded, and the majority of athletes should match the strength of Shaanxi people, further enhance their sense of responsibility, sense of mission, sense of honor, show the spirit of catching up and surpassing in the new era, live up to the great trust, dare to win, never relax their preparations for training, and strive to be the first to enter the competition, The indomitable attitude of struggle will be reflected in the whole process and all aspects of the decisive battle to win the 14th National Games. It is necessary to match the achievements of Shaanxi people, establish the belief of winning, strive to win gold in strong events, and compete for points and cards in weak events, so as to give faster, higher and stronger answers, and add glory to Shaanxi and life. Liu Guozhong requested that the delegation should strengthen unified leadership, be serious about the competition style and discipline, prevent and control the epidemic in a closed loop, and ensure that everything is safe. All participating teams should arrange their troops at a high level to ensure that they are in the best condition. All relevant departments should perform their own duties and cooperate closely to provide good guarantee for sports athletes in our province.

At the meeting, representatives of athletes and coaches made speeches. The main responsible comrades of relevant provincial departments attended the meeting.

There are 35 major sports and 409 minor events in this National Games, and 19 major sports and 185 minor events in mass competitions. Up to now, 724 athletes in our province have won the final qualification of 32 major events and 249 minor events, and the number of participating events and events has reached a record high. More than 680 athletes from all over the province have signed up to participate in mass competitions.
