The launch ceremony of the "Meet in Shanghai" activity guide (2024) was guided by the Propaganda Department of the Shanghai Municipal Party Committee, hosted by the Information Office of the Shanghai Municipal Government, the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce, the Shanghai Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism, and the Shanghai Municipal Sports Bureau, and hosted by Pangpai News and the IP SHANGHAI platform. The "city event recommenders" from the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce, the Shanghai Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism, and the Shanghai Municipal Bureau of Sports enthusiastically promoted the key, highlight and featured activities in Shanghai in 2024.

Liu Min, deputy director of the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce, said that the first economy is a bright card of Shanghai's international consumption center city. From January to March this year, there were 450 new first stores of all kinds in the city, with a year-on-year growth of 55%, and the proportion of high energy level first stores reached 10.9%. This year's "May 5th Shopping Festival" will launch a new "Love to Buy Shanghai" activity project, further strengthen the promotion at home and abroad, focus on "Good to Come, Good to Go, Good to Buy", link with major business circle enterprises, airports, airlines, high-speed railways, travel platforms, departure tax rebate stores and other market entities, so that domestic and foreign tourists can experience a friendly and convenient consumption environment in Shanghai. During the event, various enterprises will successively launch the "Love to Buy Shanghai" portfolio service. In addition, after this year's "May 5th Shopping Festival", a new urban consumption promotion activity IP - Shanghai Summer will also be launched, which will last from the first weekend in July to the second weekend in October, covering the main time period of summer vacation and overseas travel.

Cheng Meihong, deputy director of the Shanghai Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism, said that Shanghai, which is a city full of rivers, has 159 museums and 100 art galleries. She said that in 2023, the total tourism revenue of Shanghai will be 412.2 billion yuan, up 77% year on year; For the first time, more than 45000 commercial performances were held, including 194 large-scale performances such as concerts and music festivals, an increase of more than 60% compared with 2019. It received 3.6446 million inbound tourists, leading the country. In the past Tomb Sweeping Day holiday, the cruise ship to Shanghai welcomed China's largest inbound tourism group after the restart of the international tourism market. More than 3000 tourists from Germany, Austria, Switzerland and other countries experienced the unique charm of Shanghai's cultural tourism.

Lu Purlin, Deputy Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Deputy Director of the Shanghai Municipal Bureau of Sports, said that this year Shanghai plans to hold 175 major sports events above the national level. He highlighted the two events to be held in the near future: first, the "Olympic Qualification Series · Shanghai"; The second is the F1 China Grand Prix.

In addition, IP SHANGHAI (Shanghai City Image Resources Sharing Platform) will set up a column to gather official activity information and guided information services, and actively create a glance information service and experience feedback channel for friends from home and abroad to invest and consume in Shanghai. The first phase of this information service will be available in five languages: Chinese, English, French, Japanese and Korean. It is planned to go online at the end of May.
