Beijing, February 20 (Reporter Zhao Cheng) Huang Kunming, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and head of the Propaganda Department of the CPC Central Committee, attended the opening ceremony of the China ASEAN Media Exchange Year on February 20 and read President Xi Jinping's congratulatory letter.

Before the opening ceremony, Huang Kunming also met with the main foreign guests attending the event. He pointed out that the diplomatic concept of affinity, sincerity, mutual benefit and inclusiveness proposed by President Xi Jinping pointed out the direction for the development of China ASEAN relations. Holding the China ASEAN Media Exchange Year is an important measure to deepen bilateral relations and promote people to people ties. The media of both sides should adhere to the fine tradition of friendly consultation, equality and mutual benefit, and win-win cooperation, expand cooperation areas, tap cooperation potential, and push media cooperation to a higher level.

Representatives of ASEAN countries present at the meeting spoke positively of the results of media cooperation between the two sides and hoped to continue to deepen exchanges and cooperation and promote friendly relations.
