Xi Jinping pointed out that this year marks the 45th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and the United States. After 45 years of ups and downs, China US relations have given us a lot of important enlightenment: the two countries should be partners, not rivals; They should achieve each other, not hurt each other; We should seek common ground while reserving differences, rather than vicious competition; We should be faithful in our words and resolute in our actions, rather than saying and doing the same thing. I put forward the three principles of mutual respect, peaceful coexistence and win-win cooperation, which are both a summary of past experience and a guide to the future.

Xi Jinping stressed that three weeks ago, I talked with President Biden on the phone about the consideration of stable development of China US relations this year, and proposed that both sides should value peace, put stability first, and put trust first. I also stressed that "the one who gets the most can be the one who gets the least". The world today is in the midst of a great change that has not happened in a century. How to deal with this change is a question of the times and the world. The answer I give is to promote the building of a community with a shared future for mankind, which has become the banner of China's diplomacy and is welcomed by many countries in the world. The earth is so big, and mankind faces so many common challenges. The Chinese ancients said "help each other in the same boat". I think we need to "help each other with the ball" now. The human society is closely linked, and the good and the bad depend on each other. All countries have their own interests in each other. We should gather the greatest consensus for achieving win-win results. This is the basic starting point for China to view the world and China US relations. I always believe that a big country should look like a big country, and have a big country's mind and responsibility. China and the United States should set an example to this end, assume responsibility for world peace, create opportunities for the development of all countries, provide public goods for the world, and play a positive role in world solidarity.

Xi Jinping stressed that when we met in San Francisco, President Biden and I proposed five pillars, namely, to jointly establish a correct understanding, jointly and effectively manage differences, jointly promote mutually beneficial cooperation, jointly shoulder the responsibility of major countries, and jointly promote people to people and cultural exchanges. These are the four beams and eight pillars that should form the building of Sino US relations. When the big principles are set, other problems can be solved easily. China is willing to cooperate, but cooperation should be two-way. We are not afraid of competition, but competition should be common progress, not zero sum game. The Chinese side insists on non alignment, and the US side does not want to engage in "small circles". Both sides can have their own friends and partners, not against each other, not against each other, not to harm each other. China is happy to see a confident, open, prosperous and developing United States, and hopes that the United States can also take a positive view of China's development.

Xi Jinping stressed that there is a saying in China, "If you don't advance in a day, you will retreat in a day". The same is true of China US relations. The momentum of stabilizing China US relations has not come easily. It is hoped that the teams of both sides will continue to work hard to actively implement the "San Francisco Vision" reached between President Biden and me, so as to truly stabilize, improve and move forward China US relations.

Blinken first conveyed President Biden's greetings to President Xi Jinping, saying that since the meeting between President Biden and President Xi Jinping in San Francisco, the two sides have made positive progress in bilateral exchanges, drug control, artificial intelligence, people to people and cultural exchanges and other fields of cooperation. The world today is faced with many complex challenges that require cooperation between the United States and China. During my visit to China, all the American people in China I met also hoped to see the improvement of US China relations. The United States does not seek a "new cold war", change the Chinese system, curb China's development, oppose China through alliance, and has no intention of conflict with China. The US side adheres to the one China policy and hopes to maintain communication with China, earnestly implement the San Francisco Consensus reached by the two heads of state, seek more cooperation, avoid misunderstanding and miscalculation, responsibly manage and control differences, and promote the stable development of US China relations.

Xi Jinping asked Blinken to convey greetings to President Biden.

Wang Yi attended the meeting.
