According to the British Ministry of Defence, the "Sea Insertion Boat" technology demonstration boat developed by the British Ministry of Defence affiliated institutions has entered the verification stage. Once the scheme is approved, an order from the Royal Navy will be obtained.

"Sea Insertion Boat" is a small vehicle and personnel landing boat, which is intended to replace the old landing boat currently in service, and is used for ship to shore transportation or landing operations of amphibious forces. The standard design of "Sea Insertion Boat" is 19 meters in length, 30 tons in displacement, 38 people at most, sailing at a speed of nearly 50 knots, with a maximum range of 650 kilometers. The boat is propelled by water jet. The front part is a manned compartment, and the rear part is a storage compartment. The boat bottom adopts concave design, which can obtain certain lift during navigation. The hull is made of lightweight fiberglass and composite materials, and adopts anti radar echo design, which has certain stealth performance.

Different from the traditional landing boat's bow for beach fighting, the "marine insertion boat" uses the stern for beach fighting. During the landing process, turn the direction to make the stern face forward, and stretch out two driving wheels to drive the boat to beach fighting. At the same time, the bow is anchored and lowered in advance. When returning, the anchor is pulled back to the sea by retracting the anchor to avoid the embarrassment of having to turn to the armored rescue vehicle to return to the water once stranded due to tide and other reasons.

According to the report, this technology demonstration boat is a reduced version with a scale of 1:3. Its length is only 6 meters, but its basic functions are the same as the design. (Lv Toyota)
