The medical staff of the Department of Orthopaedic Medicine of the Fourth Medical Center of the PLA General Hospital smiled happily when they saw the old hero returning to normal walking after careful treatment.

"This old hero once participated in border operations and won first class military exploits." On April 22, in the joint surgery consulting room of the orthopedic medical department of the center, director Chai Wei carefully examined the veterans who came for reexamination while introducing them to the people around him.

It is understood that the veteran who came for reexamination was named Zhu Yong, who was honorably injured in the border war. His left leg was seriously injured, and his femur and tibia and fibula were crushed. At that time, the left leg was saved through emergency treatment in the rear hospital, but due to the complex injury condition and medical conditions, the fracture was malhealed. Later, a large area of old bone sticking scar appeared at the injured location, causing severe traumatic arthritis.

"Over a long period of time, joint inflammation caused further contracture of skin scar, and the knee joint could not move." Zhu Yulong, the son of the old hero, said that his family was worried when seeing his father suffering from pain and suffering and being very inconvenient to move.

Last autumn, the old hero, accompanied by his family, went to the orthopedic department of the center for medical treatment. Chai Wei, who was in charge of the reception, found after careful examination that the old hero's left knee joint was unable to move for years, which led to adhesion of bones, muscles and skin. If not handled properly, nerves and blood vessels would be easily damaged. "In addition to the malunion at the fracture site, the bone markers of the elderly had changed at that time, and it was difficult to carry out accurate positioning with general methods," Chai Wei said.

After a comprehensive analysis of the age, injury and treatment history of the old hero, Chai Wei and other experts elaborately formulated a treatment plan and prepared a response plan for possible accidents during and after the operation. According to the treatment plan, the expert team successfully operated on the old hero with excellent medical skills and installed artificial joints.

"It's back to normal after the operation!" After the recheck, the doctor finally let Zhu Yulong's heart down. Now, with the care and care of the nursing team, rehabilitation team and other professional forces in the center, the old hero has been able to perform leg flexion and extension and normal activities.
