Original title: Advise elders to spread health rumors

Just because a post forwarded by "identification" mother to the family group was a rumor, it caused a disharmonious relationship between mother and son, and I was mercilessly kicked out of the group chat. Cheng Yi (not his real name), a Dalian citizen, complained bitterly about his experience. Unexpectedly, more netizens were "worried" and said that they had already experienced such an experience.

There are two problems behind this: first, it is very common to forward health and health rumors in WeChat friends or various family groups, which is not an individual case; Second, the young people's spontaneous action of "cracking down on counterfeits" and "refuting rumours" encountered resistance from the elders, and even kicked the netizens who refuted rumours out of their families as a warning.

Some middle-aged and elderly netizens forwarded various "caring health rumors" on their family WeChat group, which first shows that they are very concerned about health and health issues, which is of course a good thing. However, if the information they forward is false and contrary to basic scientific and medical knowledge, it will not only harm themselves, but also others. It may cause loss of money, damage to health, and even lead to the result of lack of both people and money.

Young netizens have different choices about the widespread health rumors among friends and family groups: some people pretend not to see them, neither believe nor refute them, and leave them alone; Some people, like the netizen in the news, can't hold sand in their eyes and point it out without hesitation; But for the vast majority of people, the problem is obviously not that simple. It is precisely because there are relatives and elders in it. So once the netizens who are younger generation refute the rumor, they are considered to have no respect for the elders, hurt their face, or are considered not to know good or bad, even listen to their elders' words.

Obviously, science and truth are not necessarily in the hands of older people, while "caring rumors" spread through the Internet are most likely to be believed by middle-aged and elderly people. At this time, the attitude of young netizens, who neither believe nor refute rumors, is obviously somewhat negative. Therefore, at this time, young netizens should not only have the spirit of "not abandoning and not giving up", but also pay attention to strategies and learn to speak well. For example, if you see an elder publishing a rumor about health preservation in the group, don't point it out in the group in public, so as not to make the elder feel embarrassed, you can remind him through private conversation; For another example, when reminding, don't be too direct. It's better to use specific examples to increase persuasiveness.

In order to curb various health rumors in the circle of friends and family groups, in addition to the spontaneous crackdown and refutation of rumors by netizens, the online platform needs to strengthen supervision, cut off the spread mechanism of rumors, and the relevant national departments need to increase the efforts to crack down on rumors.
