Introduction

In 2010, he returned from the United States to serve the construction of the national pension information system and other projects. In 2013, he went to Japan to study for a doctor's degree, specializing in medical welfare management. These are the experiences of Tian Lanning, Chairman of Zhongguancun Side Intelligent Health Elderly Care Industry Alliance and President of Sideku Elderly Care Information Research Institute. It can be said that medical treatment, health and social welfare have always been her pursuits.

Recently, during the 30 People Forum for the Aged Society and the sixth anniversary celebration of the Pangu Think Tank Institute for the Aged Society, Tian Lanning, the new rotating chairman of the 30 People Forum for the Aged Society, received an exclusive interview with New Health Care in Finance and Economics. She talked about the prospects of silver economy, the cohesion and power of industry development, the form of the aged society, and how to promote the development of the cause of aging.

"In fact, it is a misunderstanding for the elderly care industry to make profits as soon as possible." Tian Lanning said frankly that the elderly care industry needs the guidance of government policies to create a good environment for the development of enterprises. Enterprises and social organizations should cooperate to innovate, jointly face the development opportunities of social changes, and adapt to the law of the industry's gradual "climate".

She said that nowadays, all fields are paying attention to this issue, and the issue of aging is no longer a marginal livelihood issue. The seven industries of silver economy mentioned in the No. 1 Document of the State Council are all foreseeable in the future, which requires simultaneous efforts in seven directions. Only by forming comprehensive benefits can we achieve the economies of scale we expect.

Talk about life power: grow with the industry

Finance and Economics New Health Care: What motivates you to stick to this field?

Tian Lanning: In 2010, when I came back from studying in the United States, the country was going to establish an information system platform, and I participated in the information management of elderly care institutions, and introduced some norms and standards for the entire industry. At the same time, I also participated in social organizations and actively participated in elderly care services. Under the continuous promotion of policies, I witnessed the process of elderly care industry moving towards industry. In 2013, I went to Japan to study for a doctor's degree, specializing in medical welfare management, which is to add the original medical care system to the concept of well-being, and at the same time, it needs to have business and economic elements to form a sustainable development model. For example, with the deepening of aging, how to operate social insurance and old-age commercial insurance, and how to quantitatively improve the quality of care services, more interdisciplinary research can not only meet the needs of elderly care, but also meet the requirements of sustainable development.

In this industry, I have been slowly following the development of the industry from the perspective of the government, scholars and private non-profit social organizations. After I concentrate on it, I will constantly find some new problems, and new problems will continue to guide me to concentrate on research and grow with the industry.

Finance and Economics New Health Care: As the new rotating chairman of the 30 People Forum on Aging Society, what are your plans in the future to promote the development of aging society?

Tian Lanning: The 30 People Forum for the Aged Society is open and serious, with many underlying issues close to reality, as well as hot issues. In the future, our topics will not only focus on the practical problems of the aging society, but also include exploring solutions and innovative strategies.

The Forum will continue to put forward some policy recommendations to help governments and institutions better understand and respond to the social trend and industrial opportunities of rapid aging, and focus on how "baby boomers" start their "third life", including living arrangements and social contributions after retirement. The forum will also discuss various models of silver economy, how future technology can help the health and daily life of the elderly, and how to improve the quality and efficiency of elderly care services through technology.

The most important thing is to face young people. When the society is widely discussing the aging society, will young people have a sense of oppression, and will young people think that more resources will be directed to the elderly? It is hoped that the forum for 30 people in an aging society will be used as a platform to let young people see more possibilities and opportunities. We will encourage more young people to participate in the aging industry through the forum, whether through innovation and entrepreneurship or joining the existing pension service industry, to ensure the vitality and sustainable development of this industry.

In general, some members of the 30 People Forum on Aging Society are participants in the Internet era. We will actively welcome the "wave" of silver economy. We have sustained enthusiasm, sustained attention, and continued focus on this field. We will work together with the whole society to promote the development of aging society, hoping to become an important force to promote the society to comprehensively respond to the challenges of aging.

On Talent Cultivation: New Professions Born in an Aged Society

Finance and Economics New Health Care: How can the silver hair economic industry attract more young people to join and create greater value together?

Tian Lanning: In my years of talent training, I have observed that: on the one hand, many young people have no jobs after graduation; On the other hand, nursing homes are in urgent need of talents. Although it is true that the objective conditions of the nursing home are not as clean as the office buildings and the workload is also large, some young people have changed their stereotype. They are happy to work in a home like environment, live with their grandparents, eat and chat together in the institution, and accompany each other, becoming comforters of life's "problems", They are happy at work.

I think the silver hair economy should create a good working atmosphere, so that young people can see that the value of life can also be played very well here. In fact, the demographic structure of the aging society should become a more humane society.

For example, the emergence of aging has also created new jobs. The Sideku Information Technology Innovation Research Institute for Elderly Care Services, which I founded, is a private non-profit research institution. After the Ministry of Civil Affairs released the industry standard of Elderly Competency Assessment in 2013, we began to train elderly competency assessors. Until 2020, "elderly competency assessors" were identified as a new profession. There will be more new professions in the future.

In addition, at present, many employees in the field of technology development and application are young people. Scientific and technological innovation has shown explosive growth. A technology that is widely adapted may be the highest contribution of this technology. Therefore, if young people make technological products beneficial to the elderly, it may be suitable for all people. Ultimately, these technologies can achieve profitability and sustainable development, so that everyone can use them.

Of course, science and technology companies should also establish correct ethics and values, always pursue the idea of good science and technology, and do not use the weak position of the elderly to seek improper benefits. The elderly usually belong to the vulnerable group. If the scientific and technological solutions do not have the core idea of being good, it is very easy to generate huge profits. For example, technology companies should avoid payments that can mislead the elderly, such as those that are hidden in web browsing and are not obvious fraudulent payments. The application of science and technology must take improving the quality of life as the core goal. In the face of an aging society, even if it may produce huge profits, it will never do evil.

Talking about the silver hair industry: more patience and stability are needed

Finance and Economics New Health Care: The No. 1 Document of the General Office of the State Council in 2024 focuses on the silver economy. Do you feel any changes when you are in this industry?

Tian Lanning: The change is visible. Nowadays, all fields are paying attention to this issue. The issue of aging is not a marginal livelihood issue. Everyone is paying attention to understanding and wants to have new discoveries and opportunities. I think this is a positive change. Everyone is willing to try, and there may be failures, but there will be progress in the failure. This is the biggest change I feel.

In addition, I think that the seven industries mentioned in the No. 1 Document of the State Council are all promising in the future, which requires simultaneous efforts in seven directions, because the points of benefit may be common. Only by forming comprehensive benefits can we form the economies of scale we expect.

Finance and Economics New Health Care: Do you think this market will form economies of scale?

Tian Lanning: Indeed, we are already working in that direction. The industry chain covered by the silver economy is very large, and more and more industries are beginning to invest resources. As for whether economies of scale can be formed, it will depend on the future market development and innovation process. The aging society has just started, and there is no ready economic model to predict its development trajectory. We must constantly explore and innovate. What is certain is that the trend of aging is irreversible, and the elderly population accounts for the largest proportion in our population structure. This undoubtedly shows the great potential of silver economy and the inevitability of its future development.

Finance and Economics New Health Care: How can enterprises in the seven major industries make profits as soon as possible?

Tian Lanning: The well-being of the elderly mostly depends on socialized actions and government intervention. How to turn it into a profitable market needs to rely more on the power of technology. By introducing innovative technology, integrating resources through social innovation, optimizing the allocation of resources to reduce operating costs, improve service efficiency and carry out high-level services. However, the development of aging is a slow and intense process, and the pursuit of rapid profits in the pension industry, to some extent, will be a misunderstanding. I think more importantly, we need the government to introduce more guiding policies to create a diversified and optimized development environment for enterprises, so as to better adapt to the development law of aging industries.

The health pension industry is a gradually formed market, where the government needs to coordinate resources and adjust more social resources to these enterprises. At the same time, financial empowerment can make the profit model clearer. In fact, the practitioners in the silver hair economy industry are all doing this with a better attitude. They know that this is not a matter of quick success and instant benefit, nor a matter that can quickly break out, but a gradual, relaxed and cyclical attitude to do expectations.
