At the beginning of the school season in September, the National Institute of Cybersecurity, located in the Airport Economic Development Zone (Dongxihu District) of Wuhan City, has many young faces, and the campus, which has been silent for a summer vacation, has become lively again. From the East Lake to the Jinghe River, more than 2000 students majoring in network security from Wuhan University and Huazhong University of Science and Technology gathered here in the new semester to start a new way of learning.

In fact, it is not only academic education. As the national network security talent and innovation base (hereinafter referred to as the "national network security base"), it is also the first and only "network security college+innovation industry valley" base in China. Since this year, the base has focused on talent cultivation, promoting the formation of an all-round talent training system in which academic education, in-service training and school enterprise cooperation go hand in hand, Strive to build a "Whampoa Military Academy" in the field of network security.

More than 2000 students settled in

"My opinion on information security starts from the 20 years since the establishment of the information security major in China." At 9:30 on September 1, at the second floor of Xinjia Building, School of Network Security, Wuhan University, the national network security base, Professor Zhang Huanguo, the founder of the information security major of Wuhan University, was teaching the first lesson to graduate students.

In the library, Mr. Wang, a senior majoring in information security in Wuhan University, is studying on his own. He said that after moving to Cybersecurity College from Wuhan University last year, he was attracted by the beautiful campus environment and perfect facilities and equipment here. This summer, he chose to stay at the school to study. The library provides 24-hour service for students, and the laboratory equipment is also very advanced, which is conducive to his own learning.

On September 7 last year, the college officially opened, and more than 1300 undergraduate, master and doctoral students from the National Cybersecurity College of Wuhan University and the Cyberspace Security College of Huazhong University of Science and Technology became the first batch of students.

"In September this year, the number of students in the college increased significantly, and the number of students in the two universities together exceeded 2000." According to the relevant staff of the National Network Security Base, the total number of students in the college this year from Wuhan University and Huake exceeded 1000, 40% more than last year, and nearly 50 professors and doctoral supervisors have been introduced.

"At present, it has basically realized the interconnection and sharing of shooting ranges between Wuhan University and Huazhong University of Science and Technology's Cyber Security College." It is reported that by physically connecting college shooting ranges and building first-class simulation shooting ranges, the computing capacity, simulation capacity, analysis and testing capacity, and confrontation drill capacity of all college shooting ranges have been aggregated to achieve the interconnection and resource sharing of shooting ranges, The next step will be to accelerate the interconnection between the shooting ranges of the 10 national first-class network security colleges.

Cultivate talents on the battlefield

"The overall enrollment of students majoring in network security at Wuhan University and Huake in the national network base is a talent training mode integrating academic education and enterprise practice." The relevant person in charge of the national network security base said that there is a shortage of network security talents in China at present, and the construction of the national network security base is to build such a platform, Let network security talents participate in the actual cases and projects of enterprises in the process of academic education, and cultivate talents in the "battlefield".

As the only "Cyber Security College+Innovation Industry Valley" base in China, students can "cross the road to the enterprise for internship and employment". As of July this year, the base has registered more than 120 enterprises, signed nearly 70 projects, and more than half of the top 50 network security enterprises in China have settled down.

"At present, the good industry education integration development trend of the national network security base has basically taken shape." According to the relevant person in charge of the base, at present, the network security college has established a school enterprise association with Tianrongxin, Lvmeng and other network security enterprises, and has successively introduced leading enterprises such as the Third Academy of Aerospace, Qianxin, and Qiming Star to set up R&D and training centers. The Network Security Base, together with Wuhan University and Huazhong University of Science and Technology, has built an integrated innovation system of government, industry, university, research and application, and has cooperated in more than 100 scientific research projects.

"In the future, we will also hire enterprise leading talents to be tutors of the graduate students of Cyber Security College." According to the relevant person in charge of the base, we will explore the establishment of a "double teacher system" graduate training system, jointly carry out textbook preparation, curriculum design, practical teaching, etc., and organize enterprises to strengthen the integration of industry and education by establishing scholarships and other ways.

Network security personnel training is on the "fast track"

Not far from the Cybersecurity College, the National Cybersecurity Base Training Center was officially put into use in March this year. Up to now, more than 20 units have carried out more than 50 training courses and on-site teaching activities in the training center of the network security base, with a cumulative scale of more than 5000 person times. "This is the only online security talents in-service education and training school in China," said Jia Dawen, the head of the training center.

The first phase of the training center covers an area of 73000 square meters, and is planned to have teaching buildings, canteens, dormitories, etc. As a training area, the teaching building includes 40 classrooms, 4 attack and defense laboratories, and 1 lecture hall, which can hold more than 2800 people for training at the same time. Carry out network security awareness, policies, regulations and technical training for party and government organs, enterprises and institutions, graduates and social figures, and provide corresponding evaluation and certification.

In order to cultivate more network security talents, on March 20 this year, the "Network Security Ten Thousand Talents Training Funding Plan" launched by the Central Network Information Office was launched in the national network security base. The implementation of the plan will accelerate the formation of a benign ecology of talent training, technological innovation and industrial development in the national network security base by cultivating network security talents with non academic education.

As the receiver, implementer and promoter of the national level base, Wuhan Airport Economic and Technological Development Zone is accelerating the construction of a new talent education system, innovative talent training system, talent introduction and evaluation system, promoting the integrated innovation system of industry, education and research, and creating a benign ecology of industrial development.
