Five employees in the maintenance area of Wuwei Nanqiao Road, Wuwei Public Works Section, wearing contrast clothes, helmets and safety ropes on their shoulders, walked on the mountain road between Liujiatai and Longgou Station of the Lanzhou Xinjiang Railway.

"Today's main task is to clean the slope miscellaneous irrigation and chisel away the masonry rubble. When working at height, you must step firmly and grasp firmly." The foreman Yu Ruihong told everyone.

Lanxin railway section under the jurisdiction of Wuwei Nanqiao Road Maintenance Work Area is a typical mountain railway. Both sides of the line are crisscrossed with ravines and rivers. Flood control has always been a top priority throughout the year. Since March this year, Wuwei Public Works Section of Lanzhou Railway Bureau of the State Railway has promoted the "three basic works" of flood control in a coordinated manner in accordance with the principle of "safety first, prevention first, and comprehensive management", and resolutely ensured the safety of driving in flood season.

Bao Haonan, 23 years old, has been working for less than two years, but he has followed his team teacher Fu through every tunnel and bridge of Lanzhou Xinjiang Railway on the Qilian Mountains. Now he has become the backbone of the work area.

Fu Qiang, a bridge and tunnel worker, holds an iron shear and hangs it in the air like a "Spider Man" on a safety rope to clean up miscellaneous shrubs. After each cleaning, he needs to measure the weathered and damaged mountain slope.

Aerial work is both physical and technical work, and it may be scratched by rubble and miscellaneous irrigation in case of any carelessness. Although the temperature in the valley is only a dozen degrees, under the intensive work, Fu Qiang still exudes sweat on his forehead, and the iron scissors in his hands never stop.

From 9:20 to 17:00, Yu Ruihong and his colleagues kept shuttling between mountains, rivers and valleys. When they saw miscellaneous irrigation, they used shovels to clean it up. When they encountered cutting slopes, drainage ditches and other key facilities, they carefully bent over to check. Bao Haonan held the record book at the end of the team and carefully recorded all kinds of problems found in the inspection in the problem database.

In order to save working time, they packed simple food and drinking water in their satchels. At noon, they found a flat place outside the protective net. They simply took two mouthfuls to replenish their strength. After a short rest, they continued to work.

On the same day, they patrolled 6 kilometers on foot on the muddy path in the mountains. Yu Ruihong said: "The flood control pressure in mountainous areas is heavy, and we must repeatedly check the weak sections to find out the hidden dangers in time, so that we can be confident."

It is reported that a UAV inspection team has also been set up in this section to conduct a comprehensive aerial survey of the difficult areas for inspection and lookout in the management. At the same time, we signed service agreements with the meteorological departments in Wuwei and Zhangye, established a contact mechanism with local flood control, water conservancy, natural resources and other departments, and took multiple measures to improve the technical prevention system for flood control.

"Recently, we have been accelerating the construction progress of the zero small and pre rush flood control project to ensure that the rectification of flood control hidden dangers can be completed before April 20, and make every effort to ensure the safety of passenger trains in the flood season," said He Lei, the head of the bridge and road section of this section.
