Apeks is the third European team invited to participate. The event was held by the Mongolian E-sports Association (MESA) from May 28 to June 2 in Ulaanbaatar, the capital of Mongolia, with a total bonus pool of 100000 dollars.
Other invited teams are European team OG and Gaimin Gladiators, as well as two local Asian teams Lynn Vision and The Mongolz.
This year, Apeks did not perform well, and their world ranking fell from the tenth in the highest period to the twenty second now. Although they won the qualification of IEM Katowice Play in and PGL Copenhagen Major, Apeks failed to achieve good results in these two events. Since then, they have been struggling to regain their status.
Apeks failed to qualify in the BB Villa Cup, EWC and ECL Yan Xueping qualifiers, and their winning rate in the past three months was less than 50%. Due to their poor performance in the qualifying, the MESA Nomadic Spring Masters will be the only offline event they can participate in in the future.
In the recent ECL Melbourne race, Apeks defeated Sunday school and Aurora in the group stage to advance smoothly, but in the semi-final, they lost 1-2 to the final champion MIBR and stopped in the last four.
