AQSIQ Announcement on Inspection and Quarantine Requirements for Imported Bird's Nest Products from Malaysia
According to the risk analysis results of bird's nest products in Malaysia, the two sides signed the Protocol between the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of the People's Republic of China and the Ministry of Agriculture of Malaysia on the Inspection, Quarantine and Sanitary Conditions of Bird's Nest Products Imported from Malaysia through consultation between the competent authorities of China and Malaysia. From now on, the import of Malaysian bird's nest products that meet the Inspection and Quarantine Requirements for Imported Malaysian Bird's Nest Products is approved.

Inspection and Quarantine Requirements for Imported Bird's Nest Products from Malaysia
1、 Scope of products allowed to enter China
Bird's nest products refer to edible bird's nests and their products that are formed from the saliva of golden swifts and swallows of the same type, have dirt and feathers removed, and are suitable for human consumption.
2、 Registration requirements for Yanwu and processing enterprises
Yanwu of Malaysia's bird's nest products exported to China shall be registered by the competent department of Malaysia and reported to China for filing; The processing enterprises of bird's nest products exported to China shall be registered by the Certification and Accreditation Administration of the People's Republic of China.
3、 Requirements for establishing quality management system
The competent department of the Malaysian government should establish the Yanwu epidemic prevention and health management system, formulate the operating procedures for the health control of bird's nest collection and transportation, and effectively implement the animal epidemic situation and toxic and harmful substances monitoring plan every year.
The processing enterprises of bird's nest products exported to China shall establish a bird's nest traceability system from Yanwu to export, ensure the traceability of products, and recall relevant products in time in case of problems.
4、 Quarantine approval requirements for bird's nest products exported to China
Each batch of imported bird's nest products shall go through quarantine approval in advance and obtain the Entry Animal and Plant Quarantine License.
5、 Certification requirements for bird's nest products exported to China
The competent authorities of the Malaysian government shall issue certificates of origin, veterinary health certificates and health certificates for bird's nest products exported to China to prove that they meet the requirements of Chinese laws, regulations and relevant standards.
6、 Identification requirements for bird's nest products exported to China
The inner and outer packages of Malaysian bird's nest products exported to China shall be marked with the product name, weight, bird's nest name and registration number, processing enterprise name, address and registration number, product storage conditions and production date in both Chinese and English. The marking of relevant product information shall comply with Chinese laws and regulations and relevant standards and requirements. The labels of prepackaged bird's nest products exported from Malaysia to China shall meet the requirements of Chinese laws, regulations and relevant standards.
