According to the Law of the People's Republic of China on the Entry and Exit Animal and Plant Quarantine and its implementation regulations, import bird's nest (except for instant bird's nest products made of deep processing) needs to obtain the Entry Animal and Plant Quarantine Approval Permit before entering the country. According to the notice of the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of the People's Republic of China (AQSIQ) on strengthening the inspection and quarantine requirements for imported bird's nest and its products, the precautions for applying for the import bird's nest entry animal and plant quarantine license at Shanghai port are notified as follows:
1、 Enterprise qualification
The applicant (domestic consignee) for the bird's nest import license, the overseas exporter and agent of bird's nest products must be on the record list of Shanghai Inspection and Quarantine Bureau.

2、 Precautions for filling in the application form
1. The "product name" column must be filled with a specific and accurate name that can distinguish the bird's nest variety (white bird's nest or blood bird's nest) and shape (Yan Zhan, Yan Jiao, Yan Sui or Yan Cake, etc.);
2. The name of the country or region of origin must be filled in the column of "origin (country)";
3. In the column of "Other domestic production, processing and storage units/exporters", the name of the designated supervised warehouse of Shanghai Inspection and Quarantine Bureau at each port must be filled in. (The airport port is Shanghai Dazhong Transportation International Logistics Co., Ltd.)
4. In the column of "Other overseas production, processing and storage units/exporters", the name of overseas exporters or agents registered by Shanghai Inspection and Quarantine Bureau must be filled in;
5. Fill in the "transportation mode" and "loading mode" columns according to the actual situation;
6. The name of Shanghai's specific port of entry must be filled in the column of "customs clearance place";
7. If the country of origin is inconsistent with the exporting country or region, the detailed route from the country of origin to the transit country or region to Shanghai, China must be indicated in the "transportation route" column.
3、 Attached document requirements
The applicant must submit the Record Certificate of Shanghai Port Imported Food Consignee and the Record No. of Imported Food Overseas Exporter or Agent to Shanghai Inspection and Quarantine Bureau within 7 working days after submitting the application online (the copy is stamped with the official seal).
Where the applicant does not meet the requirements, the information in the application form is incomplete, untrue or the relevant attached documents are not submitted on time, the permit application will not be accepted.
