In the afternoon of February 18, Baihua Literature and Art Publishing House held the 60th anniversary celebration in Xiqing District, Tianjin, and invited Zhang Wei, Vice Chairman of the Chinese Writers Association, to hold a borderless dialogue between literature and culture with Ma Weidu, a famous writer and cultural relics collector. The two writers, who have known each other for 37 years, still maintain the habit of writing with a pen, and expressed the consensus that the more mobile Internet era, the more demanding writing is.

Talking about getting acquainted: Zhang Wei met Ma Bole because of his contribution

Zhang Wei said frankly that he has known Ma Weidu for 37 years - in the early 1980s, he contributed to Youth Literature magazine and got to know Ma Weidu, the editor. At that time, Ma Weidu was very thin, but very intelligent. He helped him correct his manuscripts and became Ma "Bole" in his literary career.

Ma Weidu recalled the editing career of Youth Literature that it was really a literary era, and his work brought him endless fun. Every day when he goes to work, he takes a pair of scissors and opens the letters of the contributors one by one. It was also a time when young writers gathered. Zhang Wei, Su Tong, Liu Zhenyun, Wang Shuo, etc., had a large number of literary works mailed.

On Writing: Ma Weidu can copy 1500 words per hour

"Everyone's handwriting shows his feeling of literature and his cultural level. I don't think it is necessary to waste time to review some works that can be easily read once they are turned over." Ma Weidu said that he has caught up with the most brilliant era in the history of modern and contemporary Chinese literature and has worked hard for 10 years as an editor. Later, for various reasons, he left the literary world, but he will always miss his life as an editor. So that when he is collecting cultural relics now, he can often deal with affairs quickly and distinguish the truth with the eyes of an editor.

It is worth mentioning that, in Ma Weidu's view, people today talk about "consideration", that is, how much work they do, how much they get paid; When he was an editor, people in society did not pay attention to public and private matters. "At that time, our editors made great changes to the manuscripts submitted by writers, and usually copied them at the end. My normal writing speed was 1500 words/hour, and novels with more than 10000 words were basically copied in a day."

On manuscripts: Zhang Wei's manuscripts have reached 20 million words

During the conversation, both of them talked about the manuscript - the memory of their generation of writers writing life. Ma Weidu said that for today's young writers who use computers to write, using handwriting is a particularly painful exercise in life, and he still insists on writing with a pen today. Every article in his blog with more than 1600 words has a manuscript. He laughed that when he could not live any longer, he would sell his manuscripts to maintain his old age.

Zhang Wei said that since his first debut in 1973, he has had a literary writing career of more than 40 years. Only in the middle of the time with the computer writing. His five strokes are very skillful, almost to the point of blind play. But he soon gave up this computer writing mode. "In my opinion, the last straw that breaks down the camel in literary writing is the light pen power of the computer. No matter how fast your typing speed is, there is no real and natural creative inspiration of thinking and drawing on paper at the same time."

Zhang Wei also said, for example, that the People's Literature Publishing House recently published the manuscript of his novella The Ancient Ship, which is very popular in the book market. When he looked at the manuscripts written one stroke at a time when he was young, and put them on the table one by one, a total of more than 20 million words, he did not feel very hard, but much happier, because it was a huge amount of labor.

Zhang Wei also laughed that his friends discussed with him that writing is nothing more than writing down things in his mind. What's wrong with using computers. Until one day the friend told him that there was no hand rolling noodles in restaurants opened by overseas Chinese, and the taste of machine noodles was not as strong as hand rolling noodles; Zhang Wei responded that writing with a pen is also like rolling the surface with hands, while computer writing is a machine surface. It is cold and mechanical, and the author's mood cannot be seen.

Ma Weidu added that Taiwan's Yan Zhenqing manuscript was exhibited in the Nanjing Museum, which caused discussion among people on both sides of the Taiwan Straits. In the view of the curator, Yan Zhenqing's calligraphy is full of his feelings. His grief and indignation in the manuscript can all be revealed from the handwriting. If you type on a computer, you can't see it. This is the charm of the manuscript.

Talking about works: Don't let the words "Sandstorm" bury yourself

Zhang Wei finally concluded that literature is a part of writing civilization. In today's Internet age, fragmented characters and unbridled characters can be piled up without restraint. It seems that there can be a number of words and screams, but the fear of "sand storm" caused by the words must finally bury themselves. He felt that the more in the Internet era, the more he had to write carefully, one sentence at a time. Only in this way can he produce literary works that can survive in this era. (Zhang Enjie)
