In 1978, 40 years ago, I was in the third grade of primary school. At that time, the sky was blue, the water was clear, and the night sky was beautiful. Walking on the sheep's intestines path in the countryside, the faint fragrance of soil will be greeted, but people have no time to pay attention to it. It was an era of extreme shortage of materials. The villagers wore gray blue patches stacked with patches. Mother often patched under the kerosene lamp. "New three years, old three years, sewing and mending three years" is a true portrayal. People live in low thatched houses. Before the rainy season comes every year, adults need to repair the roof and add straw to prevent rain leakage. The most important thing I think about every day is how to fill my stomach. Adults are not active in working on the ground. Even if I work hard, I often go to school hungry.

I remember when I was in the fifth grade, my family suddenly got our own land one day. The villagers' faces could not hide their joy, and everyone was happy. Soon we won't be hungry and can often wear new clothes. Later, selling grain became a problem. The adults said that it was the big contract work of Xiaogang Village that brought us changes. From then on, they were full of yearning and respect for Xiaogang Village and always wanted to visit this magical place one day.

In 1987, due to the working relationship, I finally had the opportunity to go to Xiaogang Village, which fascinated me. It took a lot of trouble to go to Xiaogang Village for the first time, because the road was very inconvenient, but I still couldn't restrain my excitement. The first feeling when I came to Xiaogang Village was the smile on everyone's face. It was genuine, natural and heartfelt. The people I met were very enthusiastic. They introduced me to the past and present life of Xiaogang Village and were full of pride in the big package. Walking in the village, many families are building new houses on both sides of the main road. The new house of "three rooms and two houses" has sprung up, and the whole Xiaogang Village is like a big construction site. It was the first time I went to Xiaogang Village that I learned that it was the large-scale contracting that triggered the implementation of the household contract responsibility system, which opened the prelude to China's reform and opening up.

When I came to Xiaogang Village again at the end of 1998, I accompanied my colleagues from other places to visit Xiaogang Village. I felt that there had been great changes in Xiaogang Village. The main road in the village had been built into a cement road, which also had the name: Friendship Avenue. A data exhibition room was built in the middle of the road to commemorate the big responsibility. A grape planting demonstration garden was built in the west of the village, and the villagers used tap water and telephones. The villagers are busy with the autumn harvest. Crops are piled everywhere in and outside the village. At the head of the village, we met Zhang Cong'an, the secretary of Xiaogang Village, and Yan Hongchang, the leader of the big package cadres. They had just returned from overseas, but their excitement was hidden in their eyebrows. When they talked about the future, they were full of hope.

Since February 2004, my work in Xiaogang Village has become the norm, because Shen Hao of Anhui Provincial Department of Finance came to Xiaogang Village to take a post, and the leaders arranged me to do a good job of docking, which is actually the working assistant of Secretary Shen Hao in the financial system. When I first saw Shen Hao, I felt his simplicity, wisdom and broad vision. Villagers in Xiaogang Village habitually cast suspicious eyes on Shen Hao's arrival: Can a provincial cadre be competent if he doesn't know about the grass-roots situation? Shen Hao is both eager and cautious to become the leader of Xiaogang. Soon, he brought changes with his actions. The construction of the project, the settlement of enterprises, the start of the industry, and the participation of villagers activated the development elements of Xiaogang Village, and Xiaogang entered a new track of development. After six years of companionship and acquaintance, Shen Hao and I have forged deep feelings and deeply fell in love with this hot land. When people left him with red handprints twice, I was proud of him and glad for Xiaogang people. When Xiaogang villagers pressed the red handprint for the third time to leave Shen Hao in Xiaogang Village forever, I silently shed tears and made up my mind: in the future, I must help Xiaogang develop well and comfort Secretary Shen's spirit!

In 2012, Xiaogang Village launched the "Two Year Change" beautiful village construction. As a staff assigned by the County Finance Bureau to Xiaogang Village, my desire to make contributions to Xiaogang Village has been realized. I will spend half of my time in Xiaogang Village every month to supervise key projects, allocate project funds in time and participate in the work of the Center; Every day is busy but full. When I watched the new Dabaogan Memorial Hall, Shen Hao's deeds exhibition hall and other leading key projects rise, and the road network such as Reform Avenue was completed, Yangang and Shima New District were successively completed, the villagers who moved into the new houses were smiling, the children in schools and kindergartens were happy to learn, and the hospitals were escorting the health of the villagers. I was very happy that my wishes had been realized.

April 25, 2016 is an unforgettable day for Xiaogang people. General Secretary Xi Jinping came to Xiaogang Village for investigation. The General Secretary went to the wheat fields and farmhouses to have a chat with Xiaogang people; He presided over the rural reform forum and delivered an important speech, earnestly hoping that Xiaogang Village would continue to play an exemplary role in deepening rural reform. After the General Secretary left, the villagers still gathered together, holding mobile phones to exchange their photos of the General Secretary, recalling the excitement of seeing the General Secretary. I am happy with the happiness of Xiaogang people, and once again went to Xiaogang Village: as the head of the office of "Three Year Promotion of Xiaogang Village" and the chairman of Xiaogang Village Innovation and Development Company, I am closer to the development of Xiaogang Village.

On January 12, 2018, on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of "big contracting", I was arranged to serve as the first secretary of the Xiaogang Village Party Committee. I am filled with emotion: in the past 40 years, from the yearning for Xiaogang when I was a teenager, to approaching, understanding, supporting and helping Xiaogang after work, my life has already formed an indissoluble bond with Xiaogang Village. Now I am officially dedicated to Xiaogang Village as the first secretary of the Xiaogang Village Party Committee. My unprecedented sense of responsibility and mission makes me feel honored and stressed. I understand that I was born for Xiaogang Village.

On February 9, 2018, nearly 100 villagers' representatives gathered in front of the Big Bag Gan Memorial Hall and received the first equity dividend of collective economic benefits, 350 yuan per person. Later, I found that the 350 yuan was exactly the same as the per capita income of the big contract workers in that year, which was coincidental and doomed, that is, the rural reform continued to deepen and continue. From "land ownership by households" to "everyone shares dividends" in the village collective economy, the villagers' faces are filled with sweet smiles: a small step of rural revitalization in Xiaogang Village is a big step towards a well-off society.

At the critical juncture of the 40 years of China's reform, Xiaogang Village will keep in mind the instructions of General Secretary Xi, continue to carry forward the "Xiaogang Spirit", strengthen the leading core position of rural grass-roots party organizations, consolidate the grassroots foundation, identify the breakthrough in rural reform, commit to the integration of one, two, and three industries, promote orderly improvement of social governance, and strive to build a strong, beautiful, and happy Xiaogang, Let Xiaogang Village take the lead in rural revitalization in the new era, and let Xiaogang people live a happier and better life!
