I have lost a parrot at home. I don't know how others feel when they lose their pet. For me, my wife, and my daughter, it is like a family member suddenly disappears, which is heartbreaking.
We sometimes dream of it flying back, but it doesn't happen. In the face of this established and bleak fact, sometimes I think of the slogan of "turning grief into strength". However, grief is still grief. It makes people feel powerless in a low mood.
Although the bird flew away, the things left in memory often come out of my mind and remind me of its life at home, as if it were still here.
People who keep pets know that this is a very painful thing. It's not easy to eat, drink, sleep, and laze. Especially our parrots come from infancy.

Last May 15, two parrots came home, one male and one female. At this time, they were still a pair of babies in swaddling clothes. They had just been born for two or three days. They were weak and could die young if they were not careful.
Therefore, the whole family is facing a big enemy. They regard the healthy growth of the birds as an important life item in the family. Not only do they eat three meals a day, but even their sleeping place should be covered with electric blankets to warm their nest. Because it is too small, I can only feed milk powder. At first, I used a needle tube to feed it. Later, I used a small spoon to sterilize the tools after feeding, which is similar to raising a baby. I sometimes even wonder if this patience and care is beyond species.
However, with the slow growth of the two little things, they ate more and more. Slowly, their feathers became more and more abundant. The beautiful feathers attracted everyone's eyes. Smart eyes were full of curiosity. Especially when looking at you with a crooked head, the silly little things hit the bottom of my heart.
Although it is troublesome to take care of birds, the beautiful feeling brought by their growth is not only worthwhile, but also a flexible and natural warm atmosphere in the family due to their songs and activities. Whether adults or children, the first thing when they wake up in the morning is to see the birds, and the first thing when they come back from work and school is to play with them.

Two parrots, one named Huangtao and the other named Blueberry, sound very sweet. Yes, you must have guessed that my daughter gave me such a sweet, pleasant and memorable name.
When birds can fly, we don't have the heart to keep them in a narrow cage all day long and often let them go free. They play and fly around in the bathroom. Although they play hard, the birds do not care. They eat and pull whenever they want. There is always a toilet on the windowsill and clothes rack.

This is not the first time they have flown away. Half a year ago, Huangtao and Blueberry flew past each other once, but they were young and ignorant, and had no ability to travel far. They were found and sent back by neighbors the next day. Fortunately, we thought that two birds would not fly far if they were raised in captivity.
However, this time, the yellow peach has been missing for more than two weeks. It seems that it really can't come back!
I dare not think of its encounter outside. What does it eat every day? Where does it sleep at night? What can it do when it is windy or rainy.
As the saying goes, we rely on our parents at home and our friends when we go out. Huang Tao has no friends when she goes out. It's really worrisome. Moreover, there are a lot of wild cats nowadays, and it is hard to say whether they can be independent in a crisis ridden environment.

On the morning of June 6, I wanted to change the water for the bird. When I turned around, I bumped into the birdcage. The birdcage fell down the steps, and the bottom fell off, revealing a big hole. I picked it up hurriedly, but the two birds reacted much faster than me. First, blueberries flew out, and then yellow peaches disappeared.
An hour later, Blueberry caught it back, but the yellow peach flew around on the roof and branches. My daughter and I pushed the blue bird cage, shouted its name, and chased it... It stared at everything from afar, unmoved, and finally disappeared.
That night, I spent a sleepless night.

In fact, Huang Tao didn't fly away. He still thought about his family and his partner, Blueberry. The next day, we found it. The blueberries in the cage also found it. One cried in the cage, the other on the roof... Two birds shouted across the air, and their daughter cried beside them.
We thought blueberries could call yellow peaches home. So we put bird food and water in the yard and on the balcony. We had great hope that it would come back. After all, there were three eggs in the nest.
The bird's egg is usually taken care of by Huang Tao. When someone approaches it, it jumps out and cries. Blueberry doesn't care. Blueberry is angry. Huang Tao doesn't let blueberry sleep in the nest, so blueberry dare not enter. If Huang Tao wants to eat, blueberry has to get out of the way and pick up the melon seeds plucked by Huang Tao or eat after Huang Tao finishes eating.
How can such a leader abandon his family and children?
However, as each day passed, our expectations for it failed day by day. Looking at the lonely blueberries in the birdcage, the broken eggshells, and the untouched birdbath, we deeply felt the loss of the yellow peach.
