There are several residential areas on the west side of the campus, and the west entrance is the main way for daily students to go to and from school. However, due to site restrictions, the height difference between the entrance and the campus square is more than 9 meters. The limited land can not solve the traffic problem, but also set a difficult climbing barrier for children to go to and from school.

The design idea is to create a path that can weaken the sense of steepness, eliminate children's resistance to high altitude, and stimulate their desire to step into it and explore.
The originally straight and steep high stairs are neither safe nor easy to climb. The green high retaining wall that originally defined the boundary will be removed to release the restricted space. Disassemble the original two straight running stairs and form a staggered up and down path through the introduction of green plants in the middle, which not only enriches the traffic space but also increases the safety factor of children's walking.
The biggest highlight of the space is to implant a continuous undulating wavy steel staircase, which is ingeniously connected with the transformed landscape steps to form a rich up and down path, giving children many interesting choices.
Shenzhen Taiziwan School Co built Garden/Metrostudio Maiqiu Design
The project site is located between the west side of the teaching building of the primary school department of Taiziwan School and the school wall. The corridor divides the long and narrow space into two small plots. After years of growth, the plants are closed.

To improve the ecological environment and make the garden more interesting is a design consideration. In the end, it was decided to retain local trees, remove invasive species, introduce rich flower border varieties, combine edible fruit and vegetable planting, and build a rich three-dimensional green space through transfer boxes in the limited space, so that this small abandoned space could become a "edible garden" that could be built, cultivated, shared and sustainable together.

Shaoxing Shangyu Longshan School Facade Reconstruction Design/Wood Quantity Architecture Studio
For vocational secondary schools that have been abandoned for some time, the exterior is made of white or mosaic tiles, and the interior is made of green paint wainscots. The slightly lengthy corridors and simple planes of the buildings all point to the solid, practical and beautiful architectural concept of that era. In this renovation design, Party A hopes to create a bright campus suitable for modern teenagers' learning and life. We try to use bright colors and boxes of different sizes to outline the facade, so that some monotonous corridors come alive. Let children see different scenes around them through one by one.

The original entrance was demolished and redesigned to create a unique landscape entrance space. The special red brick masonry words "1971 Research Camp" replaced the ordinary metal fonts, making it form a complete whole with the whole space.

Reorganize the reserved architectural space to form five independent courtyard spaces and a leisure and interesting landscape belt, and continue to use red brick as the main construction material to integrate the space atmosphere. On the basis of respecting the current situation of the building, use circular elements to configure the exclusive space of each courtyard entrance to increase its interest and experience.

During the transformation of the two schools, we determined the design principle that the traditional highly divided and closed "rigid space" should be resolved into a more open and continuous "free space" around the real needs and experience of students.
