Tutorial: Installing Windows on Linode

Linode's VPS is based on KVM virtualization. Since the default system template does not provide windows, here we will teach you how to simply install the windows system on Linode without much trouble. This tutorial is collected on the Internet, and the copyright belongs to the author!

【1】 Create Disk

You can create any disk and customize the size in the subsequent disk settings. The Windows system can be divided into two disks, one system disk and one data disk. In this way, the system needs to be restored again in the future use process. You can directly DD the system without affecting the data

【2】 Disk Settings

Label: self naming (optional)

Type: both ext3 and ext4

Size: Customizable size

Please set according to Figure 4

VM MODE: Full virtualization

Kernel: Direct Disk Boot Directly from Disk

/Dev/sda Your first disk (system disk)

Rescue menu

/Dev/sda selects your first disk

Click Reboot into Rescue Mode

【5】 DD Operation

Remote Access Menu

Both Lish via Ajax term mode and Glish mode can perform DD operations

【6】 DD finishes restarting VPS

Open GLISH again, you can see the Windows startup process and perform the operation
