What is the role of importing data?

If there is no imported data after installation, it will be displayed in this way. It can be seen that the following figure is blank without any content:

Therefore, we provide one click import. After importing data, your initial status can be the same as that of the demo site. In this way, there will be a known reference for the imported settings, changing pictures, text content, adjusting colors, adjusting typography and other work in the website, so that it is easier to understand and operate these contents.

If paying theme users do not want to import by themselves, this step can let after-sales customer service help you complete the import, after-sales customer service will help you install, and import until debugging is completed and consistent with the demo website.

In two cases, select different ways to import data

1. The first case is the newly created website, In this case, we recommend using the one click import plug-in to import complete data. After one click import, all contents of the demonstration site will be imported, including: style and color/articles/category directory/tags/pages/reusable blocks/menus/pictures/attachments/videos

2. In the second case, the website is revised The website has content, which is based on the original content. This situation is not applicable to the one click import method, because the one click import will import a lot of content, making the website content more cluttered. At this time, you can use the second import method to import only some relevant pages, such as home page, about us, contact us, single product, single news. There is not much imported content, which will not cause the content of the whole website to be messy.

1. Use One click import plug-in Import complete data

The one click demo import plug-in is used for import. The plug-in download address is: https://nl.wordpress.org/plugins/one-click-demo-import ，

You can also install the WordPress background plug-in - install plug-in by searching for one click demo import. The block theme supports the latest version of the plug-in.

After installing the plug-in, enter the data import interface at the background appearance - Import Demo Data:

After entering the interface, as shown in the figure above, various types of import style data selections provided by the theme will be displayed:

The Preview button is used to view the demo website. This button can enter the demo website to view the style, so as to observe whether it is what you want

The Import button is an import button. Click it to import:

Enter the prompt in the import process. This process may last 1~3 minutes, because you need to download relevant image attachments, which is related to your server bandwidth download:

After successful import, the following interface will be displayed:

After the import is successful, you can view the home page, which is consistent with the demo site.

The block needs to be repaired after import: "This block contains unexpected or invalid content."

After importing, because the loading images of some blocks and the urls of some other images cannot be synchronized, the blocks will be damaged, as shown below: This block contains unexpected or invalid content 。， But there is no need to be nervous. It can be repaired.

For example, when you enter the home page, you can see the following prompt. When you place your mouse over the white area of the block prompt, a blue button will appear: Try to repair the block, and click it to be normal:

Some blocks may have empty lines transcoded, which needs to be modified manually

Because the one click demo import will transcode the blank lines in the block option, the blank lines will change to n, which needs to be replaced manually,

However, in the normal use process, most of the options of blank lines are those that need to be changed, so the use will not be particularly affected:

After adjusting the blank line, it will return to normal:

Pay attention to these two contents. The imported content is complete and you can start setting.

Existing content, import some pages and articles separately

1. Import pages, articles and block templates

This method is applicable to website revision. Users who already have a lot of content use the import provided by WordPress directly.

Enter the WordPress tool - Import, and select WordPress Import:

After entering, select the imported xml file to import:

Specify your administrator as the author and check Download Attachment to start importing. After that, you can go to the page and article page to view the imported content:

2. Only import reusable blocks

Reusable blocks can be directly inserted into the editor. You can select the blocks to import, and then insert your own layout in the editor.

Import method: enter the background - reusable block:

Click Import from json to import a reusable block each time:

Then in your editing, the reusable block can see this content. Click Insert to use it normally:
