TIOBE announced the Programming Language Ranking 。
C++is a language widely used in embedded systems, game development, financial trading software and other fields. It successfully surpassed C this month and became the new second in the TIOBE index. This is the highest position of C++in this list, and also the lowest position of C language in history.
TIOBE CEO Paul Jansen commented that C++was initially praised as a better object-oriented version of C language, but it defeated C language 39 years after its birth. Since 2011, C++has begun a new life, renewed every three years. Although most compilers and engineers are unable to keep up with this pace, it is a success to see the continuous development of this language.
Other highlights of the TIOBE index this month include Go (No. 7 for the first time) and Rust (No. 17, a record high).

Compared with last month, some changes in the list specifically include:
- Go rose from 8 to 7
- The ranking of SQL rose from 9 to 8
- The ranking of Visual Basic dropped from 7 to 9
- Swift's ranking rose from 15 to 12
- The ranking of Assembly language dropped from 12 to 13
- PHP ranks from 16 to 15
- Scratch's ranking rose from 17 to 16
- Rust's ranking rose from 18 to 17
- Ruby's ranking fell from 13 to 18
