1、 Amazon Announces Button Battery Guidelines
The compliance reminder not long ago is still vivid. At present, a large number of sellers have received Amazon's compliance demands in the background. Amazon recently implemented a new policy that has widely affected many seller groups. At this stage, the two key points are as follows:
First, the new regulation has been officially implemented;
The second is that sellers who receive warnings but fail to submit the required documents on time will face the risk of being removed from their listing of a large number of goods.
The notice mentioned that from April 18, 2024, all sellers selling consumer products containing button batteries or built-in batteries on the Amazon platform must provide corresponding compliance certificates. If effective compliance documents are not submitted on time, the relevant product links may be removed by the system.
Consumer goods including button batteries cover many categories: calculators, cameras, flameless electronic candles, luminous clothing, shoes, holiday decorations, pendant flashlights, music greeting cards, various remote controls, clocks and watches, etc.
After the release of this compliance update for such products, all sellers involved in selling the above products have received Amazon's notice on submitting relevant qualification materials that meet the new rules.
2、 How to achieve compliance
01 If the product is equipped with button battery
A GCC certificate (declaration document indicating that UL 4200A standard test has been passed).
A UL4200A experiment test report (conforming to ISO17025; the report contains product images, which should be confirmed to be consistent with the listing products).
A product packaging diagram with bar code (warning signs and information such as danger and accidental eating are required).
02 If the product does not have button battery
Carefully check the descriptions in Listing, delete or correct sensitive words that may cause misunderstanding.
Appeal shall be made to clarify the use and materials of the product, and clearly indicate that the button battery is not included.
Under the situation that the platform's review of compliance is becoming more and more strict, sellers must thoroughly grasp the relevant laws and regulations and platform policies to ensure that their business behavior has always been within the norms.
In addition, the seller needs to be highly alert to the account status at any time, regularly carry out self review and correction work, and eliminate any behavior that may result in punishment of the platform. When receiving the notice of compliance requirements of the platform, the seller should respond quickly and complete all compliance tasks set by the platform in time to ensure the stability and smoothness of the store operation.
