The first 24 inch 144Hz IPS Acer VG240Y P open box evaluation

Looking forward to the stars and the moon, a manufacturer finally produced a 24 inch 144Hz ips display. I ordered a piece early, and it arrived in early July. Now I have to make a fake unpacking.

Unpacking

It has been used for half a month. Put a picture of the box as a fake unpacking.

The appearance of VG240YP is the same as that of VG240Y. The page of VG240Y also jumps from the official website when inputting the serial number. It seems that P is only a sub model of the replacement panel, not an independent model.

Display parameters

The display panel is the LC238LF1F produced by Panda, which is 23.8 inches in size and relatively cheap.

Refresh rate and response time

Refresh rate and response time are two irrelevant concepts. The maximum refresh rate of panel parameters is 144Hz@1080p The response time is 7.5ms (gray scale).

Refresh rate

The 144Hz refresh rate is much smoother than the 60Hz refresh rate. Playing Battlefield 5 at 144Hz, my kd finally passed 1 (# funny).

NVIDIA graphics cards are also currently compatible with free sync, which can be enabled on the graphics card control panel.

response time

Generally speaking, the higher the response time, the more serious the smear phenomenon will be. Acer claims that enabling VRB can achieve a response time of 1ms, but it is actually useless. At present, only the TN screen can achieve a response time of 1ms, and no optimization of ips can match TN.

I didn't think there was smear on the IPS screen before, so it won't smear. On the contrary, only TN screen or CRT does not smear.

Color and visual angle

At the beginning, I bought two 144Hz TN screens, and later returned them because of the poor color and visual angle. I can accept a slight smear, but I can't accept 100 colors for 100 sitting positions. The problem of TN screen whitening and insufficient visual angle is really annoying.

Although this panel is cheap, it is also an IPS screen anyway. In addition to light leakage, the color and visual angle are acceptable, at least stronger than TN screen.

summary

shortcoming

1. The original bracket looks cool, but it is very chicken ribs. Salted fish 30 yuan to buy a rotating lifting bracket to replace, stable as a dog.
2. The HDR function is basically useless, and the screen quality must not reach the HDR400 standard, let alone 1000.
3. The rectifier transformer inside the machine does not connect the transformer to the power line externally, so it is somewhat thick.

advantage

1. The interfaces are sufficient. One DP1.2, two HDMI2.0, and the ps4+switch+pc are just full.
2. Color and visual angle are much better than TN of the same price.
3. The size of 24 inches is convenient for Beipiao to move.
4. The 144Hz IPS is only 1299 yuan. If you want a bike, don't hesitate to buy it!

In the second half of the year, 24 inch 144Hz ips from other manufacturers will be launched, such as Youpai. Their prices are similar, but the panel parameters are a little better, but not much better. Just in case of urgent need, just add one.
