According to the official Palestinian news agency Wafa, Israel launched attacks on several areas in the Gaza Strip on the 14th, targeting communities, neighborhoods and schools in Jabaliya in the north, Gaza City, Rafah in the south and other places, causing many deaths and injuries. The Gaza European Hospital, located in the southern city of Khan Younis, suspended its service because the generator stopped working, and hundreds of injured and sick people in the hospital were at risk. It is reported that the hospital was one of the several hospitals still in operation in the Gaza Strip.

According to the Israeli Times on the 15th, the Israeli military announced that a soldier died in the fighting in southern Gaza on the 14th. The report said that this was the first death of the Israeli army after entering Rafah.

According to the United Nations News website, UNRWA said on the 14th that most of Rafah had become an "empty city". In the past week, about 450000 people have fled Rafah to seek shelter in the places with stones and sand dunes.

UN Secretary General Guterres said he was shocked by Israel's military activities in Rafah and surrounding areas in the southern Gaza Strip. Guterres said: "These developments have further hindered the access of humanitarian aid to (the region), exacerbating the already serious situation." He stressed that civilians should be respected and protected at all times. "For the people in Gaza, there is no safe place today." Guterres called for the reopening of Rafah crossing to allow aid to enter Gaza.

According to Reuters, Israeli Foreign Minister Katz said on the 14th that the key to preventing the Gaza Strip from falling into a humanitarian crisis is now in Egypt's hands. He said that he had discussed with the British and German diplomatic departments on the importance of persuading Egypt to reopen the Rafah crossing.

The Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement strongly condemning Israel's behavior of pushing responsibility to Egypt, and called on Israel to fulfill its legal responsibility and reopen the Rafah crossing.

Rafah Port, which borders Egypt, has always been an important crossing point for providing assistance to Gaza. Reuters said that since May 7, when Israel took control of the Gaza side of the port and stepped up its military operations near Rafah, materials on the Egyptian side have been piling up.

According to the Associated Press, three US congressional sources said on the 14th that the Biden administration had told members of Congress that it would provide Israel with more than $1 billion worth of weapons and ammunition, including $700 million worth of tank ammunition, $500 million worth of tactical vehicles and $60 million worth of mortar shells.
