Sina Digital News reported on the morning of February 12 that, according to the latest data from Counterpoint Research, a data research company, Apple continues to dominate the global wireless headset market. It is estimated that in 2020, Apple's wireless headset shipments are expected to exceed 100 million sets.

The true wireless headset usually refers to the headset product that is connected to the mobile phone through Bluetooth and other means, and there is no connection between the two ears. Apple's AirPods is not the first of its kind, but it ignited the market.

In a report released today, Counterpoint said that the global market size of real wireless headset devices has exceeded expectations, with a year-on-year growth of 53% in the fourth quarter of 2019 compared with the same period last year. A total of 51 million sets were sold in this quarter, and 130 million sets were sold throughout the year.

The United States was the main driver in this quarter, with a year-on-year growth of 76%, accounting for 35% of the global market. Seasonal promotions and the launch of Apple's AirPods Pro at the end of October have become the driving factors.

Looking forward to the real wireless listening device market in the coming year, Liz Lee, senior analyst of Counterpoint, said, "We expect that Apple will ship more than 100 million sets of real wireless headsets, including AirPods Pro, in 2020 to maintain its leading edge in the market. The real competition will start in the second place, especially in the high-end market; Samsung sold 8 million Galaxy Bubs last year. In order to defeat its competitors, they will continue to launch Galaxy Bubs+. "

Although we are worried that the new coronavirus epidemic may affect the production of AirPods and AirPods Pro, resulting in more serious supply shortages, these data are still optimistic.

Ming Chi Kuo, a well-known analyst, said in his investor report in January that he expected the Chinese company Goertek to start assembling AirPods Pro as an Apple supplier in the first half of this year. The addition of a second supplier will help improve the shortage problem.

It was even rumored that Apple was considering bundling AirPods with the 2020 iPhone. However, given the high price of "AirPods" and its popularity as an independent product, this seems unlikely.

In addition, there is a rumor that Apple plans to launch a series of wearable audio devices, such as a set of high-end headphones. Guo Mingxuan did not provide any details about these earphones, just claimed that they will support Bluetooth.
