On May 23, Beijing time, the American Golf Association will return to the place where everything started next month to hold the American Evergreen Open at Newport CC.

Newport Country Club, located in Narragansett Bay, is one of the five founding members of the American Golf Association. It held the first championship of the American Golf Association: the American Amateur Championship in 1895, and then held the first American Open the next day.

The US Open will be held at Pine Grove 2 from June 13 to 16, which is the 1000th event of the American Golf Association. Two weeks later, they will return to Xingang.

"It is appropriate for us to start the next 1000 tournaments here. This is the place where we start the first game," Hank Thompson, senior director of the event, said Tuesday.

The event in 1895 was postponed for a month to make room for the new port, because the America's Cup sailing race was to be held there at that time.

The US Evergreen Open was originally planned to be held in Newport in 2020, but that event was forced to be canceled because of the new championship epidemic.

"Newport Country Club could have turned the page and done something else, and the world would continue. But they decided to come back to us," said Ben Kimball, tournament director of the American Golf Association
