On May 18, Beijing time, the rising Thai starlet Ataya caught five birds in the last seven holes and hit 65 shots, 7 below the par, taking a half lead in the Mizuho Bank Open. Nelly Koda, the world's number one, is also competing for the championship, even though her LPGA winning streak was interrupted last week.

Ataya was in the third race of this year because of his injured left thumb. In the same group as Nelly Koda and Ayaka Furue of Japan, she played a round without bogey on the free court.

Last year, Thailand's 21-year-old player won the award of the lowest average number of strokes: the Weir Award, with two rounds of 135 strokes (70-65), 9 strokes below the par, and 2 strokes ahead of the first round leader Lee Somi.

Li Shaomi made 66 shots in the first round. Today, four birds and three bogies made 71 shots, 137 shots in two rounds, 7 shots below the par, ranking second alone.

Nelly Koda caught five birds, swallowed one bogey, and hit 68 shots, ranking third with Ariya Jutanugarn (68 shots), Gabriela Ruffels (70 shots), and Mao Saigo (70 shots), with a score of 138, 6 shots below the par.

Aria's sister, Moriya Jutanugarn, hit 70 shots and fell behind one more shot, ranking seventh in the group.

Lin Xiyu got off to a bad start today. She swallowed the Double Bogey on the first hole (hole 10, par five), and then swallowed the Double Bogey one hole apart. After that, she slowly steadied her feet, caught four birds, swallowed Bogey again in the last hole, and played 72 strokes, 141 strokes (69-72), 3 strokes below the par, and ranked 25.

Liu Yu has experienced several big strokes recently. Today, three birdies and three bogies hit 72 strokes stably, 142 strokes (70-72 strokes), two strokes below the par, and ranked in the 35th position.

Liu Yan, a girl from Xiamen, made 148 strokes (75-73), 4 strokes higher than the par, and was eliminated. Yin Raning played 70 strokes in the first round and withdrew from the second round.
