The official partner of the National Go Team, Junior Zongheng, made a special report.

On May 20 and 22, the 29th LG Cup Korean Daily Chess King Competition will be held in South Korea in two rounds of competition between the top 24 and the top 16. The Chinese mainland has six world champion chess players, including Ke Jie. In the face of 13 Korean legions, can they prevent the other side from winning the championship?

With the reform of the two LG Cup competition systems, the number of candidates for this competition has been reduced to 24, leaving only 22 entries. In addition, the number of pre selected places is also allocated according to the chess academy where the players are located, so there are only six tickets for the competition in mainland China. Although China is the world champion chess player, in the era of AI Go, the strength gap between the masters is very small, and the number advantage of the South Korean team will certainly be enlarged.

In the first stage, there are two rounds of competition, the top 24 and the top 16. The good news is that the eight seeded players in the top 24 round are free. China's Ke Jie, Mi Yuting and Ding Hao can keep their talents fresh. But the real battle is still in the last 16. Judging from the achievements in the first half of this year, Park Tinghuan's threat in the international arena is no less than that of Shen Zhenxu, and even more so. Therefore, the key to breaking the advantage of the South Korean team is whether it can successfully block Park Tinghuan and Shen Zhenxu.
