May 16 - The 34th Asian Football Confederation Congress was held in Bangkok, Thailand. The Asian Football Confederation announced the addition of two new executive members, Ms from Tajikistan. Ms. Mijgona Mahmadalieva was elected as the female executive committee member of the central region, and Korean Football Association President Zheng Mengkui was elected as the executive committee member of the eastern region.
This session is also Song Kai's first time to participate in the meeting of the Asian Football Association after he became the chairman of the Chinese Football Association. At present, there is no representative of the Chinese Football Association among the 30 executive committees of the Asian Football Association during his term of office from 2023 to 2027.
