What is Single Line Multiplexing?

At present, a large part of IPTV of telecom broadband needs special network ports and cables. To IPTV devices. Can be used normally.

However, at present, most of the hardbound commercial houses have only one network cable from the weak current box to the living room TV. Or choose not to watch TV online. Or you can choose not to use TV to access the Internet.

Single line multiplexing is the function of using one network cable for multiple groups of data in the above situation.

The idea is to use the network management switch that supports 802.1Q VLAN to divide the VLAN, and then use the Tagged port to connect to the Tagged port of another switch, and then divide it.

I learned before that there is a piece of foreign garbage from Netware that can do this. However, the price of 5 people is about 200. Felt it was a little expensive. It will be idle.

Recently, I suddenly found that Mercury has a simple network management switch with 5 ports. Only 99 yuan... still brand new... really fragrant~~and then Meow bought an eight seater at a low price. One set with five ports.

Switch Settings

The default IP address of the switch is 192.168.0.1, which is written on the back of the machine. Same as setting up a router. The IP address can be modified.

No more settings are required after the switch is available. Knife lifting straight in~

Enter 802.1Q VLAN settings,

Add VLAN 2. Click the required port on the Untagged port, and then connect port 8 to the Tagged port. Other ports are set as non members. To avoid cross channel~

Then modify VLAN1, and connect the 8 ports to the Tagged port. The previously set IPTV ports are non members.

This step is complete.

Then go to PVID and set the IPTV port PDID to 2

okay. The switch is set.

The other switch can be set the same as this one.

In this way, multiple networks can be connected to one network cable. It is no longer an accident of cross communication.

Add: If you have a router that can access SSH. Theoretically, it has this function. One less switch can be used.
