When I was in college, I used to go to girls' dormitories to help girls reload their computers. In those days, I took a CD storage bag with all kinds of CDs I burned: "Rainforest and Woodwind", "Radish Home", "Computer Company", "Tomato Garden", "Deep System" and other pirated Ghost systems, and spent hours helping them solve their computer problems for free, Become a little famous computer expert in the department.
Time has changed. Now, installation is not as troublesome as it was more than a decade ago. It only requires a USB flash disk or a mobile hard disk. A few years ago, I put the obsolete 128G SATA SSD into the mobile hard disk box, and then installed the all-in-one installation tool Ventoy, as well as commonly used computer software, so that the computer reinstallation can be completed quickly and well! Unlike the traditional installation method, Ventoy only needs to install the software on a USB flash disk or a mobile hard disk, and can put all the system images in as long as your storage space is large enough.
How to use Ventoy?
Step 1: Download Ventoy
After entering the official website, select the latest version of Ventoy program suitable for your operating system. The installation program supports Windows and Linux systems.
Step 2: Install Ventoy on the USB flash disk or mobile hard disk
Unzip the compressed package to any directory, prepare a blank USB flash disk or mobile hard disk without any data, insert it into the computer, run Ventoy2Disk.exe, click Install, the program will automatically identify the inserted device and install it, and after the USB flash disk or mobile hard disk is automatically formatted, you will be prompted that the installation is successful when the progress bar ends. If your USB device has installed a lower version of Ventoy, click Upgrade to automatically upgrade to the new version.
Step 3: Copy the system image
Ventoy will automatically generate two partitions on the USB device. The second partition has the largest capacity and can store other software, documents, videos, pictures, etc. It can also create a folder with any name here, such as ISO, to copy the system image you need to this folder. Ventoy supports ISO/WIM/IMG/VHD (x)/EFI and other types of files, and supports more than 1000 mainstream operating systems of common types, such as Windows/WinPE/Linux/ChromiOS/Unix/VMware/Xen. The following images are recommended——
Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC 2021 (My main system, highly recommended!)
Windows 11 23H2
Ubuntu 22.04.4 LTS (Support Ubuntu Live CD for temporary emergency)
WePE (Micro PE toolbox, pure and non-toxic PE environment, can generate ISO image)
How do I start Ventoy?
Insert the USB flash disk or mobile hard disk of the installed Ventoy into the USB interface, enter the BIOS and modify the USB flash disk to the first boot. After entering Ventoy, select the image file to start the installation. You can also press F12 or Esc (different brands of computers may not be the same, and the actual key will prevail) to temporarily use the USB device to start. Ventoy will display a menu for you to select at startup. After Ventoy is installed, the same USB flash disk or mobile hard disk can support x86 Legacy BIOS, IA32 UEFI, x86_64 UEFI, ARM64 UEFI, and MIPS64EL UEFI modes at the same time, without affecting the daily use of the USB flash disk.
