According to Xinhua News Agency, Norwegian Prime Minister Steller, Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez and Irish Prime Minister Simon Harris announced the recognition of the Palestinian State on the 22nd. The Palestinian Presidential Palace subsequently issued a statement welcoming the decision of the three countries to recognize the Palestinian State and calling on those countries that have not yet recognized the Palestinian State to assume their responsibilities and recognize the right of the Palestinian people to self-determination.

At the press conference held on the same day, Steller said that Norway's decision to recognize the Palestinian State would take effect on May 28. The Palestinian and Israeli authorities have been informed of this decision. At the same time, Norway will also support the granting of full membership to Palestine in the United Nations.

Norwegian Foreign Minister Eide said the same day that Norway was committed to promoting the Palestinian Israeli peace process and hoped that the decision to recognize the Palestinian State would encourage the Palestinian and Israeli sides to resume peace negotiations. Eide said that the most urgent thing at present is to achieve a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip as soon as possible, to ensure that enough humanitarian aid reaches the people of Gaza, and to properly solve the problem of detainees.

On the same day, Sanchez announced in the Spanish Parliament that Spain recognized the Palestinian State. The decision will come into force on May 28. Sanchez said that Spain made this decision only for "peace and justice", and stressed that the key to resolving the Palestinian Israeli conflict is dialogue between the two sides. He said that Israel was "destroying Gaza" and "punishing the Palestinians with hunger and terror", which would only perpetuate hatred. "We cannot allow this to happen".

Harris said at a press conference in Dublin that the day was "a historic and important day" for both Palestine and Ireland. Harris also sent a message on social media, saying that this is a decision that clearly supports the "two state solution" and the only reliable way for Israel, Palestine and their people to achieve peace and security. Acknowledging the Palestinian State will contribute to peace and reconciliation in the Middle East. Ireland's decision to recognize the Palestinian State will also come into force on 28 May.

For many years, the process of Palestinian statehood has been blocked, but Palestine has been widely recognized as a country. In 1988, the Palestine Liberation Organization announced the establishment of Palestine, which was recognized by more than 130 countries.

AP Israeli Foreign Minister Katz said in a statement on the 22nd that in view of the decision of Ireland and Norway to recognize the Palestinian State, he had ordered the immediate recall of Israeli ambassadors to Ireland and Norway.

Katz said on social media that the decision of Ireland and Norway was an unfair treatment of the terrorist attack on Israel last October, which destroyed the opportunity for peace and questioned Israel's right to self-defence.
