Song Hao, Assistant Vice President of GCL Technology and General Manager of Securities Affairs Center, reviewed the development of photovoltaic industry in the keynote speech, and shared the importance of photovoltaic in the wave of green industry.

In recent years, global climate challenges have intensified. With the promotion of China's "double carbon" goal, the photovoltaic industry chain has developed rapidly and is becoming the absolute main force of energy supply increment.

According to the data of CPIA and BP World Energy Outlook, the new installed capacity of global photovoltaic will continue to grow rapidly. Under the net zero scenario, it is estimated that photovoltaic power generation will account for 33% in 2050.

At the same time, polysilicon has become the main technical route of photovoltaic industry. According to previous media reports, with all four granular silicon R&D and manufacturing bases in the three major regions of east, west and north put into production, GCL Technology's granular silicon production capacity will exceed 400000 tons.

It is roughly estimated that from 2024 to 2040, the global photovoltaic power generation will increase by more than 20 times, from 2 trillion kWh to nearly 40 trillion kWh, accounting for about 70%. As the only new low-carbon photovoltaic technology in the world, granular silicon has no boundaries in its imagination.

Song Hao said that the cost reduction of the polysilicon industry encountered a bottleneck, and GCL Technology is based on the first principle to solve the ultimate problems in all aspects. GCL Technology's 2023 annual report shows that the company will firmly follow the path of low-carbon core products represented by granular silicon+green hard core technology matrix multi wheel drive represented by perovskite, CCz, etc.

The reporter of the 21st Century Business Herald learned that GCL Technology has made a breakthrough in using silane fluidized bed process (FBR) to produce granular silicon in polysilicon production technology with independent intellectual property rights, and the silane conversion rate is close to 100%.

Compared with the improved Siemens method, the FBR method has the advantages of low energy consumption, low cost, etc. The granular silicon products produced by the FBR method do not need to be broken and have good fluidity, which can better meet the requirements of the RCz method or CCz method Czochralski monocrystalline silicon process. Specifically, the comprehensive energy consumption for the production of granular silicon can be reduced by 80% compared with the traditional Siemens rod silicon, and the unit power consumption has been reduced to 13.8 kWh/kg.

"More efficient production mode brings lower power consumption, so what does lower power consumption mean?" Song Hao revealed that GCL Technology has built 420000 tons of granular silicon production capacity, and every 10000 tons of granular silicon will contribute more than 129 million yuan of carbon reduction value to society.
