The theme of this year's National Science and Technology Week is "carrying forward the spirit of scientists and stimulating the innovation vitality of the whole society". In combination with the science popularization month activity of "being a civilized person in the new era and practicing civilization, I will take action", Guangzhou will organize and carry out a series of science popularization activities that meet the needs of the society, are popular with the masses, and have a wide range of services, so as to promote the widespread benefits of scientific and technological innovation achievements and scientific and technological resources.

At the opening ceremony of Guangzhou Science and Technology Week in 2024, academicians and experts will work together with teenagers to light the "science and technology torch" symbolizing the spirit of inheriting scientists as "science popularization love ambassadors"; Funny popular science talk show and cool technology style T show appeared on the same stage, leading the public to find scientific interest from rigorous scientific research.
The main venue of the 8th Guangzhou Science Carnival will create 6 special exhibition areas around Guangzhou's cutting-edge scientific and technological achievements and popular science themes, with nearly 90 scientific research institutions participating in the exhibition; At the same time, in combination with the science and education resources on the campus of South China Agricultural University, three branch venues were set up on the campus to guide the public to experience the charm of science and technology by clocking in the "Fun Science" tour loop.
At the same time, 18 departments directly under the municipal government will organize more than 60 popular science activities for the benefit of the people around their respective functions.
