The "Watch · Chase Light" project takes rural left behind children as the service object, relying on the online help and education platform, organizes college student volunteers to provide support for rural left behind children, such as psychological health counseling, academic assistance, etc., to solve the problem of cross regional flow of educational resources, and achieve accurate "intellectual support". The project promotes the popularization of science and improves the scientific literacy of rural left behind children by carrying out activities such as "Academicians on campus" and "Scientists face to face".
At the project kick-off meeting, Lv Yueguang, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, said that the project is a useful attempt to empower rural education with scientific and technological means. He hoped that everyone would follow the Jinggangshan spirit as a guide to build a group of high-quality science popularization and education teams, help rural children develop healthily in body and mind, and cultivate a group of new people of the times to take the responsibility of national rejuvenation.
It is reported that the "Watch · Chase Light" Science Popularization Education Project plans to help 10000 left behind children and benefit millions of rural children within five years. The project will explore an effective way to enable high-quality development of rural education with information technology to help rural revitalization.
